Waverly schools program helps students connect across communication barriers This Waverly program is teaching ALL students to communicate with peers who use alternative technology to communicate.

Congrats Carlos! Carlos will be attending Harvard in the fall. In receiving the WEF scholarship, Carlos chose Waverly Robotics as the match offer.

Below is Adison's nomination letter, submitted by Waverly Staff member Jeff Parks:

I would like to nominate Adison Maldonado for the Holly LaPratt Memorial Creativity Award. She is a Assistant Captain on the Robotics team. She has always been a very passionate member. She has also made the entire more creative. She designed our website:

She also designed, wrote, and filmed our Impact video for the last two years:

She presents on the Impact team and has created the visual for each year which I do not have a picture of. She has also assisted in writing the script for the presentation for the last four years. She has built several systems around the Robotics shop including our cleaning system that the team really bought. She also created several art items for the community fundraising auction.

Adison is involved in Robotics, Student Government, Spanish Honor Society, Asian Pacific Awareness Club, and Latinos Unidos.

Adison is a great leader, very involved in student activities, and is one of the most creative students that I know in so many different ways.

It’s with heavy heart that we pass on our deepest condolences for the family of Holly LaPratt on her passing. Holly was one of our original board members and did SO much for our Waverly community both working and as a tireless volunteer.

We’re also blessed and proud to announce that along with her family we’ll be developing a scholarship in her honor - the Holly LaPratt Creativity Memorial Scholarship! More details to come, but the family started with a generous donation in her honor and has listed for others to donate as well - thank you. 💛🖤

We will miss, Holly so much and can’t thank her enough for all that she did for our community.
