Michigan State University's teaching, research, and extension swine farm.
The Swine Teaching and Research Center is comprised of three sites: the Main Farm, the Intensive Research Unit and the North Farm, often called the old farm. The Main Farm is located on the southern edge of campus, and is where the largest number of pigs is produced. This may look gross to some but it's a thing of beauty to the farm crew! New chain, paddles, corner wheels and hold-downs on the Gestation/Farrowing end after 21 years. 😍
It's that time of year again! Whether you bought show pigs from us or one of the many great producers in the state, please remember that pigs can sunburn and caution should be taken as mother nature hopefully graces us with nicer weather!

We currently have 2 sets of gilts under camera on electronic feeders. Very interesting to watch their activity and nesting patterns throughout the day.
