1. Guard your time - do not give too much time and energy to negative people

2. Choose your attitude - Yes, that's possible. You get to choose how you behave or view something. Dictate your own emotions.

3. Refocus your thoughts - Focus thoughts on things other than the negative encounter.

4. Choose to behave productively - Stay within the boundaries of what you would usually do or say. Don't get out of character for someone else's actions.

5. Seek out positive people - Positive energy begets Positive energy. Find some.
