What a special moment for civic education in Michigan.

Today, students from East Grand Rapids High School & East Kentwood Public High School brought the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution program to the Michigan State Board of Education - and they absolutely rose to the occasion.

As our nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, these students stepped into the role of constitutional scholars, presenting thoughtful testimony. State Board members then became their Congressional panel, challenging them with questions and engaging them in real civic dialogue.

Their confidence, preparation, curiosity, and depth of knowledge are exactly why civic education matters. We the People gives students the opportunity not just to learn about our Constitution, but to practice the skills of informed citizenship - researching, listening, communicating, questioning, and engaging with others.

Congratulations to the high school students and educators at East Grand Rapids Public Schools and East Kentwood High School-KPS! Thank you for representing Michigan's next generation of civic leaders so beautifully & intentionally.

📣 MCCE is thrilled to be joining students at Macomb Community College for a hands-on Voter Engagement Day on September 15. This event is designed to help students connect with the voting process and understand why their vote matters.

Students will have opportunities to check their voting status, register to vote, participate in a mock voting experience, and learn more about civic engagement.

And while this event is designed specifically for Macomb Community College students, we love to bring similar experiences to campuses and schools across Michigan.

Want to bring an engaging voter education experience to your students like Macomb Community College Student Life and Leadership ? Let’s connect! 🗳️

🚨 The MiVoice MiVote Student Voter Registration Challenge is ON! 🚨

Democracy isn't just something students read about in a textbook. It's something they practice.

The Student Voter Registration Challenge is a statewide competition designed to help Michigan students build the knowledge, confidence, and skills to participate in our voting processes - and make their voices heard.

🗳️ Students can pledge to register or preregister to vote.
📈 Schools can track their progress.
💡 Schoosl can get recognized for their involvement.

Because when students engage civically, entire communities benefit.
