Memorial Day is a national holiday that honors and remembers those who died while serving and protecting our country. Let us all remember them and celebrate their lives this weekend. To my 1966 North Penn High School classmates let us remember the 3 who graduated with us but never came home from Vietnam. John Glorioso, Bill Hannings and Ron Murphy.

What a shock we had today! We learned that our Classmate G. Roger Markley passed away unexpectedly on May 13th (6 days after his 78th birthday)! I have very little information at this time, but I am in touch with his beloved daughter, Annie Markley. At this time they have not done an obituary (editor's note...they are very expensive), but perhaps their funeral home will provide one. Watch this space.
Annie did mention to me that he was very tired the day before his death😢
I called Roger the "unofficial Class Historian". He had a story to tell about everything Class of 1966! Nobody could ever challenge him, because nobody had a memory like his. "He did have an amazing memory! He could recount old stories in so much detail", said Annie. Annie also said "that his friends meant a lot to him and I'm so glad he was able to reconnect." Annie is grateful that we can post his passing and let everyone know that is on NPHS Class of 1966 & beyond. We will always remember Roger and his endless posts for all to read. We are left to wonder is he got to enjoy his Mr. Sticky Cinnamon Buns!!!I hope you will all leave a note to Annie, her brother, and his wife, Janet. Tell us your many memories of this giant in our class that has gone on to the room that has been prepared for him...near his mother...Art Huey and all that have gone before him. Rest in Paradise , Roger.
Your work here is done and you will be forever in our hearts🙏
