If you’re not already watching, the show is shot at the Mansion at Noble Lane, nestled in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. It is owned by Monique Greenwood, former editor-in-chief of Essence Magazine. After juggling two professions for years, Monique left her job at Essence so that she could put her full focus on her bed-and-breakfast business, one of the most successful on the East Coast - featuring locations in Brooklyn, Cape May, NJ and The Poconos.
Today as a successful entrepreneur, Monique runs her Akwaaba Bed & Breakfast Inns empire with heart and soul, serving as the top executive and the innkeeper—even, to the occasional guest, as a therapist!
I have a personal interest in this show as my travel group “Getaway Girls” has spent two weekends at the Mansion at Noble Lane over the past few years, as well as at Monique’s Cape May, NJ and Washington, DC locations. At all locations we had a wonderful time hanging out together, getting pampered by Monique and her staff, and enjoying the facility and surrounding area. We are so proud of this next step Monique is taking to highlight the Poconos Mountain location, and would like you to take a look at what’s going on at the Mansion too!
The Mansion is a former Woolworth estate that welcomes people who seek to escape and unwind, couples who want to celebrate a milestone or reignite passion. Things may not always go smoothly, but Monique and her charismatic staff work hard to make sure their guests have an experience they'll never forget.
