We are collecting pop top tabs for the Ronald McDonald House during the month of September. Each R&R group and our PreK will have a bin (PreK bin in the lobby) to drop their pop tops.

On Friday, October 2, we will weigh each group’s bin to see which one collected the most! We look forward to helping the Ronald McDonald house raise funds with our tabs.

Following Jesus does not mean that life will always bring prosperity and peace. The Bible tells us that as part of God’s Church, we will have crosses to bear.

Yet in those moments of struggle, we are drawn to Christ and learn to rely on his strength. We carry our crosses knowing that Jesus first carried his cross for us.

We thank God for a successful first week of school. We have been blessed with a tremendous new second grade teacher this year, Mrs. Nadia Schrap. She came to us as a recent graduate from Wisconsin Lutheran College. This year is filled with exciting changes for Nadia including getting married this summer to her husband, Brandon. We are so excited to have her join our SJL family!

📖 Kids’ Bible Study is back this fall!

Our first KBS session is Sunday, September 20, and this semester we’ll be exploring The Parables of Jesus!

KBS is for children ages 3 (potty trained) through 4th grade and meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month from 9:15–10:15 AM. Each morning includes devotion and music, Bible lessons, snacks, crafts, and time together in God’s Word.

🩸 Help us respond to the blood crisis!

St. John’s is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday, August 18, from 1:00–6:00 PM in our fellowship hall. We have already filled 28 of our 43 appointments—let’s fill the remaining spots!

Donors will receive a $20 Amazon gift card by email. Plus, if we collect more than 30 pints, our school will receive $10 for every pint donated.
