All summer long, we’re highlighting the incredible women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Iota Gamma Omega Chapter and sharing what they’re up to this season.

This Friday, we’re featuring Sister Dawn Lewis! Sister Dawn, a professor of psychology and the first Student Division Chairperson (now Student Circle) of The Association of Black Psychologists, attended two professional conferences this summer: The Association of Black Psychologists conference at Morgan State University and the American Psychological Association conference in Washington, DC. From connecting with colleagues to exploring the latest research and participating in valuable workshops, Sister Dawn continues to embrace learning and professional development.

This Friday, we're featuring Sister Corryne Carter! This summer, Corryne has been traveling! She has been to New Orleans, New York, Philly, and Boule in Vegas! She enjoyed spending time with sisters and bonding at events throughout the conference.

This week, we're featuring Sister Rosina Simmons. Sister Rosina has had a summer filled with adventures! She enjoyed Boule in Las Vegas! Sister Rosina spent time in Denver, Colorado as an elected Delegate at the National Education Association Representative Assembly where she served as the Virginia State Election Chair! She also attended a reception congratulating our newly elected NEA President Princess Moss!
In addition, Sister Rosina attended the Mary J. Blige concert, Michael Jackson One, Cirque du Soleil, The Wizard of Oz Sphere, and Chris Brown-Usher concert this summer.

All summer long, we’re highlighting the incredible women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Iota Gamma Omega Chapter and sharing what they’re up to this season.
This week, we're featuring Sister Eva Lewis. Eva Lewis is a 2026 Atlas Arts Lab Fellow at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC, a platform for individual artists to develop new work and to serve the community through engagement initiatives that encourage civic dialogue and community cohesion. Eva's project was with her all-Black Woman sketch comedy team called Bonnet Talk. In June, her team premiered their show, “Help Wanted: Looking For A Black Woman” to a sold out audience of 250 people and received a standing ovation. The show was a labor of love for Eva and she can’t wait to do it again!
