428 patients. $276,701 in care. One community coming together to make a difference.

From sunup Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon, volunteers and healthcare professionals came together to provide free medical, dental, and vision care at the Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic at Prince George’s Community College.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Iota Gamma Omega Chapter and the Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County partnered with the Mount Rose Chapter of The Links, Incorporated (hosts), Gamma Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, and Hear to H.E.A.L. to sponsor the clinic.
Together, we served 428 patients and provided $276,701 in medical services—meeting needs, removing barriers, and putting service into action.

31st Annual 5K Walk/Run: making an impact, one step at a time! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾

Sponsored by The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Iota Gamma Omega Chapter, the event raised $22K, collected 1,688 nonperishable food items, and received $300 in gift cards. Our sponsors provided resources, snacks, flu shots, and more!
Proceeds support efforts to fight childhood hunger, stock community cupboards, promote mental health awareness, and strengthen youth programs throughout Prince George’s County.

A week later, and we’re still proud of how Iota Gamma Omega showed up for Cluster I! 🩷💚

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Iota Gamma Omega Chapter had the honor of hosting nearly 2,000 sisters for the Cluster I Conference, and our chapter stepped up in every way.

From hostesses and registration to the service project, signage, décor, logistics, and everything in between, our members jumped in wherever they were needed and put their all into making the conference a success.

It took weeks of planning, teamwork, flexibility, and a whole lot of hands to bring it all together. Looking back, we’re incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

We had the assignment, and we handled it with greatness.

☀️Summer Sisterly Spotlights are coming to a close!

All summer long, we’ve highlighted the incredible women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Iota Gamma Omega Chapter and sharing what they’re up to this season.
This week, we're featuring Sister Sharon Burton! Sister Sharon spent part of the summer celebrating the recognition of her artwork! As a collage artist, she had work juried into three DMV exhibitions: the 32nd Annual Open All-Media Juried Exhibition, Legacy 25th Anniversary Exhibition, and SUPERIMPOSED. Her exhibited works included Roots2Sky and Phoenix Queens Rising.

Thank you for following along all summer as we celebrated the many ways our sisters are thriving, serving, and making summer memorable.
