Lions, we're so excited to welcome you home tomorrow! For everyone planning to visit our Langston Campus for the Homecoming festivities on Saturday, we have some exciting news: we are offering a complimentary campus shuttle this year! The shuttle will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will make stops at Scholars Inn Apartments, the E. Kika de la Garza Headhouse, Sanford Hall, the Campus Police Station, the Page Hall Visitor Lot, the Research Arena, and the Tailgating Parking Lot. Please take advantage of this free shuttle service to help you get around campus tomorrow!

We would also like to remind everyone coming to campus tomorrow to please review the Homecoming Fan Guide available at https://langston.edu/homecoming for all the information you need regarding campus rules and policies. It's shaping up to be a fantastic Homecoming Weekend as we celebrate The Legacy Continues! L's Up!

At this year's President's Scholarship Gala, Langston University is honored to recognize Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, an organization whose relationship with Dear Langston spans generations of scholarship, leadership, and service! Did you know that two LU presidents also served as president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated? Dr. William H. Hale and Dr. Henry Ponder! That shared legacy also includes Langston presidents Dr. Thomas E. English, Dr. Ernest L. Holloway and Dr. Kent J. Smith, Jr., whose service reflects the enduring connection between Alpha Phi Alpha and Dear Langston.

This summer, three LU students completed research internships with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation through the OMRF Langston Biomedical Research Scholars program. This program gives LU students an opportunity to work alongside OMRF scientists and gain hands-on experience with medical research. Applications for the 2027 program are open now, and you can find out more at omrf.org/Langston

Langston University is proud to honor the 1890 Universities Foundation at this year's President's Scholarship Gala. The Foundation strengthens the 1890 land-grant mission through scholarships, partnerships, workforce development and initiatives that expand opportunities for students and advance education, research and community engagement. We are especially grateful for support of the 1890 Scholarship Program and the opportunities it creates for students pursuing agriculture, food sciences, natural resources and related fields.

Langston University and the Langston University Sherman Lewis School of Agriculture & Applied Sciences were proud to co-host the 2026 National Goat Conference with the National Goat Consortium earlier this week. The three-day event brought people from all over the country to Oklahoma to learn more about all things goats, from best practices in care to different types of value added products. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this wonderful event!
