This past week in the Toddler classroom, our theme was fire safety!
Our toddlers had a fun and exciting week learning all about firefighters, fire trucks, and staying safe! One of the highlights of our week was having a real fire truck come visit us! The children were so excited to see the fire truck up close, as they even got to step inside!
Our class talked about the different parts of the fire truck, and the kids had fun identifying that the fire truck was red. During art, evreyone enjoyed making adorable handprint fire trucks! Our little ones also got to build their very own fire trucks using various pieces of cut-out paper shaped like a fire truck, flames, and wheels. Our toddlers practiced their fine motor skills by gluing all of the pieces onto their paper to create their own special fire trucks.
We also did a fun fire safety art activity! Our toddlers used red, orange, and yellow markers to draw their own fires. After they finished creating their flames, they used a blue marker to color over the fire and pretend they were firefighters using water to put it out!
During circle time, we practiced the ABCs, animal sounds, shapes, and counting to five. The kids did a great job participating and showing us everything they have been learning! We also had a special fall treat and made caramel apples! Everyone had so much fun making and enjoying their yummy treat. For gross motor skills development, we enjoyed spending time outside playing on the playground and taking a walk together.
Our toddlers enjoyed an amazing week together filled with learning, creativity, and lots of fun! The kids had such a great time learning all about fire safety and firefighters, and we loved seeing how excited they were when the fire truck came to visit Children Central!
