Knife Skills in Culinary Class

On Monday, in Culinary Class, our students took an exciting step and used chef knives for the first time! After reviewing our usual kitchen safety protocols, students learned proper knife techniques, including the claw grip and pinch grip.

They put their new skills to work by slicing fresh cucumbers and potatoes straight from Mrs. Bennetts backyard garden! Once the slicing was finished, everyone got to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of their labor. Our potato lovers even got a special treat—quick potato wedges prepared in the Hot Pot!

Great job, Culinary students! We can't wait to see what you'll be cooking up this year!

🧪 Chemistry Class: The Great Biscuit Experiment! 🥐

Today, our Chemistry class is putting their baking skills—and their chemistry knowledge—to the test!

Students are experimenting with three different biscuit recipes:
🥣 Basic Biscuits
🧪 Baking Powder Biscuits
🍪 Drop Biscuits

Each recipe has different ingredients and methods, but there’s one BIG question…

Which biscuit will win the vote?

We are so thankful for a wonderful start to the new school year! It was such a joy to see our students back on campus, learning, laughing, and growing together. We are looking forward to all that God has in store for our GCS family this year!
