Under the lights of historic Kunkle Field, Hempfield 14u1 Black sought their second consecutive championship of the world against rival Manheim Township. In front of a capacity crowd, Black jumped out to an 8-0 lead after one inning and never looked back in a dominant 15-6 victory.

All eleven players in the lineup reached base via a hit or walk. Colton Zutell stroked two singles and drove in three runs. Kellen Leber and Vladimir Zorrilla smashed two run home runs. Colton Erdman gapped a double. Toma Cox, Michael Sahd, Jaxson Douglas, Adrian Olivencia and Evan Djaraher stroked singles. Brady Biggs reached base three times via the walk. Ellis Settle also walked.

Leber got the start on the mound for Hempfield and threw two scoreless innings striking out five. Erdman worked the third inning striking out one. Settle closed out the final four innings striking out seven without giving up an earned run.

Black caps their season with a fun championship run and 27-2 overall record. Black had a crazy dominant three game LNP stretch where they outscored their opponents 47-6. Black pitchers only gave up six hits over three games while Black hitters stroked eight home runs.

Hempfield Baseball Banquet 5/31/26.

The season came to an end on Monday.
Hempfield finished the season 19-6.
- regular season. section 1 runner up.
- District 3 third place.
- berth in the 6A PIAA state tournament.

Congrats to all of our seniors. And thank you to all who came out to support our teams this season!

Game Day! Hempfield travels to Hazelton for the opening of the PIAA 6A state tournament

Ephrata 1. Hempfield 5. In the 6A District III third place game Hempfield came away with the win. Senior Derek Katch and Junior Landon Charles led the team with 2 RBI each. Katch had the lone multi hit game going 2-4. Senior Logan Dougherty stymied the Ephrata offense going 5 innings allowing 1 run and 6 Ks. Sophomore Brooks Wieckowski came in, in the 6th to close it out allowing 0 runs in 2 IP, 1K. Hempfield travels to Hazelton on Monday June 1 for the opening round of states.
