Fremont County Library Board Meeting — Materials Acquisition Policy Vote

The Fremont County Library Board will meet on Monday, June 29 at 5:00 p.m. at the Lander Library (likely in Meeting Rooms A & B) to vote on the proposed Materials Acquisition Policy.

Public comment must be submitted by email to Library Director Anita Marple at:

Comments do not need to be lengthy. A short statement such as "The current policy should not be changed," "I oppose the proposed policy change," or "I agree with the policy change" is sufficient.

Please note: No public comment will likely be taken during the meeting itself because all comments must be received and tallied before the 5:00 p.m. deadline. THAT SAID, PLEASE STILL PACK THE ROOM.

Thank you to all 11 candidates who stepped up and applied for the open Fremont County Library Board positions. We appreciate the honesty, thoughtfulness, and time each devoted to answering the commissioners’ questions. Your willingness to serve our community and support our library system is sincerely appreciated.

The new library board members will begin their 3-year term on July 1.

We hope that the county commissioners will publicly discuss the library board applicants at this Tuesday's meeting, and the select the two board members to be sworn in this July.

As there was an incredible list of candidates who would bring responsibility, respect, and joy to the board, we are also hopeful that the commissioners will choose candidates who truly love and support our libraries.

If you plan to speak during public comment, you must arrive prior to 9:00 am to sign in to speak.

Thank you to the candidates, and for those who love libraries for what they are and not a political agenda, we are so grateful.

Library Board interviews take place this coming Tuesday at the commissioner meeting room in Lander.

The public doesn't have much say in who is chosen, but it can't hurt to share your thoughts with the commissioners.

There are several really incredible applicants.
