NOVEMBER BOARD MEETING MOVED

To Nov 12 at 9:30 am, due to the normal week being the day after the general election. This move is to relieve stress for county employees.

The board voted to abandon the current revisions to the materials acquisition policy. The reasoning was based on several factors including lack of guidance from Attorney Nathan Maxon, and concerns regarding the intent and practice of the policy itself, which new members saw as potentially punitive toward the library director and not the direction they saw as appropriate. New board members want time to consider the policy and it's implications in relationship to any other upcoming changes.

If and when this returns to the agenda, we will let you know.

We don't usually do book recommendations aside from our regular banned books club picks, but I just finished this book and thought of all of you wonderful library friends on almost every page.

This magical realism tackles the very real issues we've faced with rogue library boards these past few years.

The library is guarded by a book dragon, and while Anita isn't technically a dragon, she might as well be!! 💜

The book was a four star read for me, but the content and the message was brilliant.

Happy reading, friends. Feel free to use this thread to recommend a book you've read recently that really stood out to you!
