Opioid overdoses can affect people from all walks of life, and having naloxone (Narcan®) available can help save a life while emergency responders are on the way.
Did you know naloxone is available without a prescription in many pharmacies and can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose until EMS arrives?
🚨 Call 911 immediately if someone is unresponsive, not breathing normally, or has bluish or gray skin.
As CPR and First Aid instructors, we often talk about being prepared for emergencies we hope never happen. Knowing the signs of an overdose and understanding how naloxone works is another important part of being prepared.
Thank you to the American Red Cross for sharing this important reminder. ❤️

Reviews like this just make my heart happy. ❤️
When I started Pasco CPR & First Aid Training, my goal was never just to hand out certifications. I wanted people to leave feeling more confident, more prepared, and more capable of helping when it matters most.
Reading that a student left class feeling confident, excited, and empowered means so much to me. Helping people build confidence, learn valuable life skills, and discover what they’re capable of is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
To every participant, parent, family, troop leader, organization, and community member who trusts me with their training, attends a class, shares a post, recommends me to a friend, or takes a few minutes to leave a review…thank you.
Your support helps this small business grow, allows me to continue doing something I truly love, and helps more people gain the skills and confidence to step in when someone needs help.
I’m incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️

❤️ So proud of this group of future babysitters!
These students spent the day learning infant care, feeding, diapering, leadership, decision making, communication skills, CPR, AED use, first aid, and how to confidently respond during emergencies.
But what impressed me most wasn’t what they learned. It was how they showed up.
They arrived eager to learn, ready to participate, and fully engaged throughout a long day of training. They asked thoughtful questions, jumped into hands on activities, supported one another, and took their role as future caregivers seriously.
As both an instructor and a parent, it makes me so happy to see young people investing in skills that can make a real difference. So many local families are going to be fortunate to have these responsible, capable, and compassionate teens as part of their caregiving team.
More importantly, they left with confidence in themselves. Confidence to stay calm, make good decisions, solve problems, and step in when someone needs help.
I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them and can’t wait to see the positive impact they’ll make in our community.
Congratulations to our June 2026 American Red Cross Babysitter Certification graduating class! 🎉❤️
✨ Prepared. Responsible. Ready to Care. ✨

“I’m so nervous to take this class because I’m not a healthcare provider and I feel like I’m going to be the only one here who isn’t.”
A participant shared this with me before one of my recent CPR classes.
Honestly, it’s one of the most common concerns I hear.
Many people assume CPR classes are filled with nurses, doctors, EMTs, and other healthcare professionals. Because of that, they worry they’ll be out of place or won’t know enough to keep up.
The reality? There wasn’t a single healthcare provider in the class. 😊
The room was filled with parents, grandparents, teachers, childcare providers, coaches, and community members who simply wanted to learn how to help in an emergency.
You do NOT need a medical background to learn CPR.
In fact, most of the people who take my classes aren’t healthcare providers at all.
CPR and First Aid classes are designed for everyday people because most cardiac arrests happen outside of the hospital.
They happen in homes, workplaces, schools, restaurants, sporting events, and communities just like ours.
That’s why CPR isn’t just for healthcare professionals—it’s for parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, babysitters, and everyday people who want to be prepared.
By the end of class, she was confidently performing CPR, using an AED, and asking great questions.
If you’ve been putting off learning CPR because you’re worried you’ll be the only non-medical person in the room, I promise you’re not alone. ❤️
Everyone starts somewhere.
Have you ever felt intimidated to take a CPR class because you weren’t in healthcare?

AED Challenge Post
🚨 Quick Challenge:
Without Googling…
Do you know where the nearest AED is right now?
📍 At your workplace?
📍 At your child’s school?
📍 At your gym?
📍 At your neighborhood clubhouse?
Most people don’t.
An AED can’t help if nobody knows where to find it.
❤️ During CPR & AED Awareness Week, take a minute to locate the AEDs in the places you spend the most time.
💡 Bonus tip:
The free PulsePoint AED app can help you locate registered AEDs near you and even allows communities to add AED locations to help others during emergencies.
Have you ever noticed where the AED is in your favorite local businesses?
👇 Tell me where you’ve seen one recently!
