This is what your average Bulgarian infantryman would look like in the summer season of the early war. Note the Linen cap and light summer tunic. The tunic, known as a "gymnasterka", was inspired by their previous ally the Russian Empire. The rifle is a Mannlicher M1880/90 chambered in 8x50mmR. It was still commonly used at that point but the M95 was standard. Bulgaria was given thousands of jackboots from their German ally. Those are the ones pictured here. The ammo pouches are Austrian pouches which would have been used during the Balkan Wars but still saw some use during the early war.
