Apologetics for the Church Apologetics for the Church™ is a training ministry of Dr. Mark Farnham for the local church.

Mark Farnham has been teaching Apologetics in local churches for almost a decade. His doctoral work in Apologetics has opened doors to interact with all kinds of unbelievers, from doctoral students in philosophy at a Philadelphia University, to Muslims inside the mosque, to everyday people on the streets of Lancaster, PA. As a former pastor, Mark understands the frustration of trying so many “Come and See” events with little apparent fruit. By training church members to confidently “Go and Tell,” apologetics strengthens the faith and witness of the entire church. His training seminars are aimed at average church members who want to become prepared and confident to share their faith with anyone they meet. Mark is Associate Professor and Coordinator of Pastoral and Pre-Seminary Majors at Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, PA. Previously he taught systematic theology and apologetics at the seminary level for eleven years. Prior to that he served as senior pastor in New London, CT for seven years. Mark earned a PhD in Apologetics from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He also holds a Master of Theology degree in New Testament from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity degree from Calvary Baptist Seminary. Since 2011 he has been an adjunct professor of World Religion at Strayer University in Allenton, PA. He has also done graduate and postgraduate studies at Harvard Divinity School and Villanova University. Contact:

On August 1, Apologetics for the Church hosted its Student Apologetics Conference at Wheatland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, PA, focused on equipping youth to defend and share their faith.

Featuring plenary sessions from Mark Lamontia, Dr. Mark Farnham, and Dr. Welton Bonner, along with breakout sessions led by regional interns, the conference gave students practical tools to engage unbelievers with the gospel and grow in confidence as they defend the Christian faith.

​This past Saturday, students, parents, and ministry leaders gathered at Wheatland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, PA for the Every Believer Equipped Student Apologetics Conference!

​We tackled some of today’s toughest questions head-on:

​Our interns are in town today for an intensive deep-dive into worldview defense and real-world gospel engagement. Here’s a glimpse at what we tackled in the classroom:

​• The Heart of Presuppositional Apologetics: Standing on God’s Word as the ultimate authority from step one.
• Engaging Unbelievers: Moving past surface-level arguments to address the core of the heart and mind with the gospel.
• Whiteboard Role-Play: Running live, interactive scenarios to hone our communication and sharpen our answers before stepping outside.

Today's students are growing up in a culture that constantly challenges what they believe. Questions about truth, God, the Bible, and morality are no longer reserved for college classrooms. They're everywhere. If we want the next generation to stand firm in their faith, we must intentionally equip them to engage those questions with confidence and conviction.
