Yesterday our Montessori community came together to celebrate the International Day of Peace—a day that holds special meaning in Montessori education.

For Maria Montessori, peace was more than the absence of conflict. She believed that education could help create a more peaceful world by nurturing children who are compassionate, respectful, independent, and connected to the people and world around them.

Today, our students celebrated those values through community, song, and togetherness—reminding us that even the smallest hands can help build a kinder, more peaceful world.

School is in full swing on our first full week and students are now enjoying the amazing enrichment programs we offer (Art, Library, Music and PE). This is Mr. Ben's Class visiting the Library for the first time with Ms. Maggie. Reading is fun!

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage, compassion, and unity shown in the days that followed. Thank you to all first responders, everywhere, everyday!

As a Montessori community, we also look toward the future with hope. Through peace education, respect, empathy, and understanding, we are nurturing the next generation of thoughtful leaders—children who have the potential to create a more peaceful, compassionate, and united world.

We remember the past. We educate for peace. We believe in the future.

There’s nothing quite like the first days of school! Our classrooms are full, our students are back, and we’re already learning, creating, exploring, and doing great things together. It’s going to be an amazing year!

Wishing Maria Montessori a very happy 156th birthday! Our school is only 45 years old - we still have a few years to catch up :-)

What a great start to the year! Today we welcomed our Kindergarten and Elementary friends back to school and they were so happy to be back! And I quote, "I love school!" We missed you, too!

Parents of new toddler and primary class students, please don't forget to join us tonight for the parent orientation evening where you will get to meet your child's teacher, learn about the Montessori approach and get to know other parents. The evening begins at 6 pm. Elementary families are invited to a special Back-To-School Night in September, see the school calendar for details.
