Classmates, this fallen Tiger is the cousin of our very own classmate LaKedra Kiki Malone Green. The Class of 1999 sends its thoughts and prayers to the Malone family.

We want to express our heartfelt condolences to the family of our beloved student, Preston Malone III, a sophomore at Lancaster Early College High School, and a proud member of the Lancaster High School Junior Varsity Football team. On Wednesday, August 20, Preston passed away.

His coaches, teachers, and peers have shared that Preston was a dedicated athlete, a supportive teammate, and a bright presence both on and off the field. He was admired for his intellect, hard work, leadership, and the positive spirit he brought to those around him.

This week was a whirlwind, and our district focused on providing resources and support to help our students and staff cope with this tragic loss. We are deeply grateful to our counseling team for their compassionate efforts in ensuring that everyone affected received the care they needed.

The passing of Preston is a profound loss for our school district and especially heartbreaking for his family, teammates, and friends. Please know that our thoughts and prayers remain with all who are grieving. Preston will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We will share additional details about his celebration of life services as soon as they become available.
