Story time on Saturday morning!
INTRODUCTION TIME, part 2!
We're SO excited to offer a SECOND monthly story time on Saturdays, led by Kristina Wenger. She brings a wealth of experience and creativity with her.
Kristina Wenger is a mom and educator who loves books, storytelling, and crafting and sharing these loves with children. She has worked as a bookstore clerk, a postal clerk in a tiny post office, an actress at Sight and Sound Theatres, a first grade teacher, a writer (blog posts for parents and Sunday school teachers), a professional storyteller, a curriculum creator, and she has voiced and edited audiobooks. But her favorite job of all is being a mom to her two (now grown) children, who taught her more than she taught them.
In 2003, Kristina and her husband Timm started Kids and Cultures, an educational nonprofit organization whose goal was to help kids learn about and appreciate world cultures through storytelling shows, camp programs, and other assemblies. Since 2009, the Wengers have run Taste the World Lancaster (a walking and tasting tour of some of Lancaster’s ethnic eateries). In 2020, they founded Wanderlust Coffees (now owned and run by the Stroopie Company). Kristina works from home part time, and enjoys volunteering and creating things.
Kristina's first story time is Jan. 24 at 10:30 a.m.. Mark your calendars and help us celebrate Australia Day!

Sixteen years ago, Kristina and I started Taste the World (Lancaster, Pa.) walking and sampling tours as a fundraiser for Kids and Cultures (a non-profit organization at the time, which we've since closed). Now I am the director of Neighbors Community Center at Hub450 which provides services for refugees and immigrants, and programs for the whole community.
We're still doing Taste the World tours, and now your participation benefits the community center.
