Looking for a fun (and FREE!) way to get your kids outside this summer? Join us at the garden for hands-on learning, creativity, and fresh air!

Each week brings something new—crafts, nature projects, and real gardening skills! Kids will explore everything from planting and harvesting to learning about pollinators 🐝 and nutrition. Plus, when produce is ready, families are welcome to take some home 🥕

Get ready for another exciting summer with Lancaster Rec’s FREE Summer Playgrounds & Wading Pools Program! 🛝💦

📅 June 8 – July 31
🗓 Monday – Friday

Youth ages 6–13 can enjoy 8 weeks of games, activities, outdoor fun, and access to our wading pool locations across the city. Free lunch is served daily at 11:30 AM for all children 18 and under, and pools open at 12 PM so kids can cool off during the summer heat!

💦 Great news, Lancaster! All Lancaster Rec Wading Pools are now OPEN! ☀️

Bring the kids out to cool off, make new friends, enjoy free lunch and snacks, and take part in one of Lancaster's favorite summer traditions. Our FREE Summer Playgrounds & Wading Pools Program welcomes youth ages 6–13. Families with younger children are also welcome to enjoy the wading pools with adult supervision.

Our Playgrounds and Wading Pools are open weekdays until July 31.
11:30 a.m. – Playgrounds open / Lunch is served to all children 18 and under
12 p.m. – Wading pools open
3-3:30 p.m. – Wading pools close for a break, snack is served to all children 18 and under
3:30-4:30 p.m – Wading pools are open

Peace in the Streets

We briefly interrupt exciting Block Party features to share another wonderful opportunity to meet your neighbors, enjoy a delicious meal AND see our new Cabbage Patch Garden in action ALL IN ONE!!

This year we are combining our free Neighborhood meals with showing off our community garden space! (Which is free and open to join!)

We have three dates where you can come get a tour of our garden and learn all about what’s growing and how/when to harvest it (and bonus: even take some fresh produce home with you)!

Then after you’re done looking at yummy food - you can also enjoy a tasty cooked meal (on us)! We provide all the food and just ask you to come ready to socialize and even better if you bring someone new with you!

The first meal + tour will happen NEXT Thursday (one week away)! We hope to see you there and save each of these dates: June 18th, July 16th and August 6th from 6-8pm!
