Our partners with The Edible Classroom have shared with us that our bucket gardens are up for grabs!
Please feel free to stop by and take a bucket or two back to your home. Most of them have vegetables in them ready to be harvested. These buckets are a great resource to have if you don't (or even if you do!) have space for growing plants at your home.
If you need any help, feel free to reach out.
*The buckets are located on the southside of the building, visible from the entry driveway to the parking lot.*

ANNNND that's a wrap on the 2025-2026 school year here at Burrowes Elementary!
This school year has been a remarkable journey from the halls of our old building filled with memories to the excitement of stepping into a new space full of possibilities. Together, our students, staff, and families showed incredible perseverance, adapting to change with resilience, patience, and heart.
Every challenge became an opportunity to grow stronger as a team, and every milestone reminded us of what we can accomplish together. From putting on our very first musical to sending off our amazing 5th graders to middle school, every experience centers around one thing....we are a community.
As everyone here at the school takes a moment to celebrate the progress we have made this year, we hope you do as well because we could not have done it without you.
We wish everyone a restful, enjoyable, and safe summer! We will see you for the 26-27 (yes...6 7 ๐) school year!

Burrowes has a strong culture of community and support and our celebrations go beyond just work-related successes and achievements.
Today, we celebrated Ms. Duroni for her upcoming milestone birthday because of the powerful impact she our has had on the entire Burrowes community as the building principal. Students and staff wanted to celebrate her upcoming birthday with a big in-school surprise... so students and staff gathered in the gym to sing Happy Birthday, and offered cards and banners of joy and appreciation for her as a person and principal.
Happy Birthday, Ms. Duroni!!

While it may be cool and rainy today, our Burrowes Field Day 2026 was very warm and sunny!
We had a blast over on the McCaskey High School turf field with all kinds of different fun, physical activities planned by our awesome PE teacher, Coach Beamer!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to run stations, cheer our students on, and help ensure a smooth sailing event!

Our 5th graders had a great visit from Lincoln Middle School: A Full Service Community School's School Resource Officer Miller from Bureau of Police Lancaster City, PA!
Students had the opportunity to connect, ask questions, and learn how the role of an SRO falls into so much more than just a law enforcement professional...but also a mentor, an educator, and a role model. Ensuring our students feel connected to adults helps keep our schools and communities safer. Building relationships early helps to create a smoother, more confident step forward for our students and weโre excited for whatโs ahead! ๐๐

We were so excited to welcome Tresi, our local courthouse facility dog from the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office to our school, bringing comfort, calm, and connection to support our students. ๐พ
With a gentle presence and warm spirit, this special visitor helped create a safe, positive space where students could feel at ease.
Moments like these remind us how powerful care and compassion can be in helping every child thrive.
Thank you to Karin and Natalie for your support as well!

Today was our final Hip Hop in Poetry session with our friends Wednesday and Sir Dominique Jordan from Ripple Hub!
Hip Hop in Poetry takes the artforms of hip hop and rap and applies the concepts and ideas of poetry (a part of our 4th grade curriculum), making learning relatable and powerful for our students.
Beyond the academics, these two community creatives foster connections with our school creatives, inspiring them to think bigger and show their talents.
On that note...
We were hyped to welcome Alex Colon and Sir Dom to the stage,
Bringing hip hop and poetry alive, engaging every age.
With rhythm and stories, they helped our students find their voice,
Showing every single learner they have power and a choice.
Much love for the inspiration...they made words dance and rejoice!

Girls on the Run Lancaster teaches our students about teamwork, perseverance, and commitment to being our best selves. It's not only for the girls who run, but their families, their friends, and their community.
We are so proud of our Girls on the Run group, our coaches, and all who made this possible for us.

Yesterday, we were thrilled to welcome officers from the Lancaster Township Police Department to spend time with our students learning about careers in law enforcement! ๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐
Students had the chance to ask questions, explore equipment, and hear firsthand what it means to serve and protect our community. The visit highlighted the importance of community policing, which focuses on building trust, relationships, and strong connections between officers and the people they serve. Experiences like this help our students see police officers as approachable, caring, role models, and fellow members of their community. Thank you, LTPD, for inspiring our future leaders and strengthening our school-community partnership!
