We are excited to share an important safety improvement happening around our school! In partnership with Lancaster Township, PA - Lancaster County , new school zone and traffic safety signs will soon be installed in the streets surrounding our school.
The new signage will include school zone designations with speed limit restrictions to keep folks safe at Burrowes, other School District of Lancaster students, and our entire community.
As the signs are installed, we ask all families and visitors to:
β
Observe posted speed limits, especially in school zones
β
Use designated crosswalks when walking with students
β
Allow extra time during arrival and dismissal as everyone adjusts to the changes
These improvements are part of an ongoing effort to create a safer environment for everyone traveling to and from Burrowes each day.
We appreciate your partnership in helping us keep our students safe.
We also appreciate the advocacy from families in making our community safer.
Together, we can make every trip to and from school a safe one. ππ

School may be out for the summer, but we are reflecting back on some GREAT attendance!
At Burrowes Elementary, and across the School District of Lancaster, we stress the importance of attendance for both optimum academic and social emotional growth.
All students are taught that the goal is to see them at school at least 95% of the time (but certainly would love them here 100% of the time).
The students in this photo have achieved perfect attendance and were able to push through any barriers that may have arisen throughout the year to make it to school every day during the 25-26 school year. We recognize student attendance is a group effort and are proud of the hard work each student and family put in over the year to help achieve perfect attendance!
