AVC EOPS/CARE/NextUp EOPS- Assist educationally disadvantaged students with financial need who want to attend college.

CARE- a program within EOPS for students who are single parents. NextUp- offers current & former foster youth support & services while attending college. EOPS

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is a California Community College program to assist educationally disadvantaged students with financial need who want to attend college. The Antelope Valley College EOPS program receives sta

te and district funds to recruit, enroll, and support these students that may not otherwise seek higher education. CARE

Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) is a program within EOPS for students who are single parents. EOPS provides additional student support services to assist CARE students in reaching their academic and personal career goals. NextUp

The NextUp program is housed within EOPS, and offers eligible current and former foster youth support and services while attending a California Community College. Mission
The mission of the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) program is to support the primary goals of recruiting, retaining, and transitioning students who have language, social, economic, and/or educational disadvantages. The program provides student support delivery service and programs which are “over, above, and in addition” to the regular programs and services offered by the college.

On February 19th, 2025, we celebrated Black History Month by holding our 2nd Annual "Taste of Soul" event.

With the help of local restaurants, and the AVC Cafeteria, we showcased foods and desserts from soul food culture.

EOPS is now accepting applications for the Spring 2025 semester. We help educationally disadvantaged students with financial need, single parents and current and former foster youth with obtaining extra resources and services.

You must be enrolled in 9-12 units and have a 2.0 GPA or higher for the Spring 2025 semester.

Perks include:
-Personalized education plan
-Transfer assistance
-Priority registration
-Financial Grants and scholarship opportunities
-Personal Development Workshops

Summer Institute 2024 at UC Santa Barbara

We want to thank all of our EOPS students and staff who attended the Summer Institute over the weekend. Students spent three days at UC Santa Barbara exploring the campus, living in dorms, and discuss transfer options to further their education.

Join us for the annual Summer Block Party at our Palmdale Campus June 5 starting at 4 p.m.!
