Best of the Night - September 16, 2026
Every Toastmasters meeting has award winners, but the biggest victories belong to those who show up, step outside their comfort zones, and grow. Tonight we enjoyed three dynamic prepared speeches, three insightful evaluations, and four brave and creative impromptu speakers. That said, here are tonight's award recipients...

🏆 Best Speaker: Carl Hershey, who enriched our evening with an important lesson about time and how we choose to spend it.

🏆 Best Evaluator: Dilip Abayasekara, who shared his experience and wisdom through exceptionally insightful observations and constructive feedback.

🏆 Best Table Topics: Our guest, Jasmine, who impressed us all with her engaging response and fascinating interest in metalsmithing.

🎉 Special Shout-Out: Congratulations to Garrett Cliff for completing Level 1 of the Presentation Mastery Pathway. Well done on reaching this important milestone!

📅 Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 30, and guests are always welcome! Join us to learn, grow, and connect with a supportive community of speakers and leaders.

🌟 Best of the Night – Conestoga Toastmasters! 🌟

🏆Best Speaker – Carl Hershey gave it the old college try and succeeded with a lively tale about mistaken identity.

🏆 Best Evaluator – Wally (aka Howie) Brenchley, offered meaningful guidance and constructive feedback that inspired growth, built confidence, and reflected excellence in evaluation and coaching.
🏆 Best Table Topics – Dawn Lagunas stepped up again and seemed to stop time and become the summertime hero with her Table Topics response.

🏆 Best Evaluator – Laura Hatton, provided insightful, encouraging, and practical feedback to encourage growth while showcasing the qualities of a model evaluator.

🏆 Best Table Topics – It was a TIE !!!

Dawn (Guest) fearlessly stepped up and captivated the audience with a quick-thinking and engaging impromptu response. Sharing the spotlight was Chris Kissling, whose creativity, humor, and crowd-pleasing delivery earned him a well-deserved share of the win.

Best of the Night July 15, 2026

The night was a display of team effort as we all came together to work through a very full agenda.

Chris Kissling is back in the house and celebrated is 3 year Toastmaster anniversary by earning the Speaker of the Night ribbon.

Garrett Cliff stepped up to fill the role and was voted Evaluator of the Night.

Our guest, Piral, took part in Table Topics on her very first visit and took home the Table Topics of the Night ribbon.

Best of the Night

July 1, 2026

A resilient group of members showed up for a cool night in the library.

• Garrett Cliff enlightened us about his journey of loss and discovery and took home the Speaker of the Night ribbon.

• Alisia Ives served as Grammarian, Table Topics Master and gave an engaging and insightful evaluation to win the Evaluator of the Night ribbon.

• Laura Hatton took home the Table Topics of the Night ribbon even with that crazy hair.

Spread the NEWS! There are still openings for this fantastic free program.

Registration is now open for the free six-week workshop at the library called Youth Leadership.

The Youth Leadership Program conducted by the Conestoga Toastmasters club consists of six sessions helping those between the ages of 12 and 15 to develop their communication and leadership skills through practical experience.

In the workshop, young people will learn how to:
Evaluate their own speaking ability
Prepare and deliver speeches
Give impromptu talks
Control their voice, vocabulary, and gestures
Give constructive feedback and more!

What an incredible year it has been with Prabin Maharjan serving as President of the Conestoga Toastmasters Club!

Prabin’s contagious smile, kind personality, and positive, uplifting messages have truly enriched our club throughout his term.

This photo taken on the final day of his presidency, perfectly captures the fun, vibrant, and "vivacious" spirit he brought to every meeting. We are grateful for his leadership and the lasting impact he’s made on our club.

Best of the Night - June 17, 2026

• Alisia Ives packed just the right amount of vivacious content into her speech and took home the Speaker of the Night ribbon.

• Chris Kissling and Dilip Abayasekara DTM, AS PIP tied for the Best Evaluator ribbon.

• Everyone at the meeting won Table Topics of the Night! Hooray for us!!!!
