​In 2012, Yusef Wiley was released from a California Correctional facility after serving close to 22 years. Yusef hit the ground running being supported by both family, friends and faith community in the SF Bay Area. He immediately assumed the position as leader by advocating for social reforms, mentoring youth both privately and as an Islamic Studies teacher and mentor for all faith communities within the Public School sector. Not long after that, request began to pour in for Yusef to share his story at local government meetings, College campus events and Companies in the Silicon Valley. Yusef Wiley later decided in 2014 that it was time to bring to life his Community based organization, the Timelist Group, Inc., which is now a successful multimillion dollar operation serving the Greater Los Angeles and SF Bay Area. Yusef Wiley has added to his portfolio a Consultant Company, YW Consultants LLC, an S-Corp called, Timelist Inc and owner of successful e-commence clothing store.

Build with those who are willing to Struggle with you and Grow with you. 🤎 🤲🏽📿

I’ve learned that building a future takes more than vision. It takes people who stand beside you when the money gets tight, the plans change, and the weight gets heavy.

People who tell you the truth, put in the work, and are willing to grow alongside you through the uncertainty.

When I look at what I’m building, I see my family. I see sacrifice. I see responsibilities that reach far beyond me.

Every brick, every business decision, every new opportunity carries a purpose: creating something that gives the next generation a stronger foundation.

Choose your circle with intention. Appreciate those who stayed through the struggle. Keep building and growing together.

Tag someone who has struggled with you, grown with you, and helped you keep going. 🤎

A’udhu billahi min ash Shaytanir rajeem. Some of the hardest work you will ever do is the work within your own heart.

Anger, jealousy, hatred, resentment and pride can become diseases of the heart that quietly stifle your growth. You can have talent, vision and opportunity—and still undermine your progress through what you refuse to address within yourself.

It takes discipline to pause when anger wants you to react.
To celebrate someone else when jealousy wants you to compare.
To examine your own behavior when pride wants you to blame.
To release hatred while maintaining healthy boundaries.

Having a difficult feeling does not make you a bad person. But we are responsible for what we feed, what we practice and how we treat people.

I have to do this work, too. Growth requires honest reflection, prayer, accountability and the willingness to correct yourself—even when nobody is watching.

Protect your heart. What you nurture within it will show up in your decisions, your relationships and your leadership.

There comes a point in your growth when you realize that history alone isn’t enough to maintain a relationship.

Some people knew the old you. They were there before the growth, before the vision became clear, before you started protecting your time and becoming intentional about where your life was going.

You don’t have to disrespect them. You don’t have to hate them. And you don’t have to forget where you came from.

But you do have to recognize when it’s time to move on.

As you grow, your circle should include people who are professional, productive, positive, disciplined, and building something. People who challenge your thinking, respect your time, celebrate your progress, and bring opportunities—not unnecessary distractions.

Everybody from your past cannot automatically have access to your future.

Sometimes growth means changing your environment.
Sometimes leadership means changing your circle.
And sometimes the greatest sign of maturity is knowing when it’s time to move on.

No hard feelings. Just a different direction. 💯

🤖 I’m NOT Anti-AI. But I am PRO Ethical AI.

I believe AI can become one of the most powerful tools of our generation. I use it in my own work, and I see the tremendous opportunities it can create.

But I also don’t believe AI should have free rein over our lives without accountability, ethical standards, and reasonable regulation.

Here’s my concern: AI is moving faster than our policies.

Most companies and organizations are not going to voluntarily create strong ethical standards for themselves. That means at some point, society has to decide where the boundaries are.

But here’s the bigger question:

WHO GETS TO SIT AT THE TABLE AND WRITE THE RULES?

It can’t only be the tech community.

And it definitely can’t only be government.

If AI is going to affect all of us, then the people helping shape AI policy should look like all of us.

Bring in the educators. Small-business owners. Nonprofit leaders. Parents. Workers. Young people. Civil-rights advocates. People with disabilities. Formerly incarcerated people. Faith leaders. Healthcare professionals. Researchers and ethicists.

And yes—bring in the stay-at-home mom and the neighborhood mom-and-pop business owner.

You don’t need to understand how to build an algorithm to understand how an algorithm can affect your family, job, business, privacy, finances, or future.

Expertise should inform the conversation, but lived experience must help shape it.

I don’t want to stop innovation. I want responsible innovation.

The question isn’t just, “How far can AI go?”

We also need to ask:

“How far SHOULD AI go—and who gets a seat at the table when we decide?”

Same person. Different mindset. Different possibilities.

Education didn’t erase where I came from—it changed how I saw where I could go.

There was a time when my thinking was shaped by survival, the streets, and the limited options I believed were available to me. Then education introduced me to something powerful: possibility.

I learned that education is bigger than a degree. It’s about developing the ability to think differently, communicate differently, understand systems, create opportunities, and ultimately lead.

That paradigm shift helped take me from surviving circumstances to building organizations, creating opportunities for others, and becoming a Founder & CEO.

When you change what you know, you can change how you think.
When you change how you think, you can change the direction of your life.

Our children’s future is too important to leave to chance.
