💙🦅 MEET OUR TRUSTED ADULT ALL-STARS! ⭐⚾

Our Trusted Adult Wall is officially up in the Sunnydale cafeteria, and we are SO excited for our Skyhawks to see it! 💛

This wall is more than just a display of our amazing staff. It’s a visual reminder to every student that there are caring adults all around our campus who are here for them. Whether they need help, have a question, are having a hard day, need someone to listen, or just need a little encouragement — they have a team in their corner. 🫶

Students can stop by the wall to put names to faces, learn about different staff members, and discover trusted adults outside of their own classroom. They may even learn a few fun facts about the people they see around campus every day! 👀💙

And this wall ties right into all of the fun happening during our Trusted Adult activities this week! As students complete challenges, meet staff around campus, and learn how to ask for help, we hope they begin building connections with even more adults they know they can count on.

Because being a trusted adult isn’t about a job title — it’s about being someone who shows up, listens, supports, encourages, and cares. 💙

We are so lucky to have SO MANY Trusted Adult All-Stars at Sunnydale! ⭐🦅

💙🦅 ¡CONOZCAN A NUESTROS ADULTOS DE CONFIANZA ALL-STARS! ⭐⚾

¡Nuestro Mural de Adultos de Confianza ya está listo en la cafetería de Sunnydale y estamos MUY emocionados de que nuestros Skyhawks lo vean! 💛

Este mural es mucho más que una exhibición de nuestro increíble personal. Es un recordatorio visual para cada estudiante de que hay adultos que se preocupan por ellos en todo nuestro plantel y que están aquí para apoyarlos. Ya sea que necesiten ayuda, tengan una pregunta, estén pasando por un día difícil, necesiten a alguien que los escuche o simplemente un poco de ánimo — tienen un equipo de su lado. 🫶

Los estudiantes pueden visitar el mural para aprender los nombres y reconocer las caras de nuestro personal, conocer un poco más sobre ellos y descubrir adultos de confianza fuera de su propio salón. ¡Incluso podrán aprender algunos datos divertidos sobre las personas que ven todos los días en nuestro plantel! 👀💙

¡Y este mural forma parte de todas las actividades de Adultos de Confianza que tendremos esta semana! Mientras nuestros estudiantes completan retos, conocen al personal de nuestro plantel y practican cómo pedir ayuda, esperamos que formen conexiones con aún más adultos en quienes sepan que pueden confiar.

Porque ser un adulto de confianza no depende de un puesto o título — se trata de ser alguien que está presente, escucha, apoya, anima y se preocupa. 💙

💙🦅 TRUSTED ADULT SPIRIT WEEK — WHAT A WEEK! 💛✨

Our Skyhawks showed UP this week! 🙌 We loved seeing so many of our students AND staff participating in our spirit days, showing off their team pride, college gear, Sunnydale colors, and more!

But this week was about so much more than what we wore. 💙

Our goal was to help students begin to recognize the trusted adults all around them at Sunnydale — the people who are here to listen, encourage them, help them, and remind them that they always have someone in their corner.

And some of our favorite moments weren’t planned at all. 🥹 We caught one of our 5th grade teachers playing basketball with his students at recess 🏀, Mr. Chris handing out high-fives to brighten students’ days 🙌, and even our principal learning how to tie a bow tie for a student on Picture Day! 🎀📸

These little moments are BIG reminders of just how many caring and trusted adults our Skyhawks have surrounding them every single day. 🫶

And we’re just getting started! 👀✨ Next week is packed with fun Trusted Adult activities that will give our students even more opportunities to connect, explore our campus, meet the people on their team, and practice asking for help when they need it.

We can’t wait to see everyone participate! 💙💛

💙🦅 SEMANA DE ESPÍRITU DE ADULTOS DE CONFIANZA — ¡QUÉ GRAN SEMANA! 💛✨

¡Nuestros Skyhawks se lucieron esta semana! 🙌 Nos encantó ver a tantos de nuestros estudiantes Y miembros del personal participando en nuestros días de espíritu, mostrando el orgullo por sus equipos, universidades, los colores de Sunnydale ¡y mucho más!

Pero esta semana fue mucho más que la ropa que usamos. 💙

Nuestro objetivo fue ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a comenzar a reconocer a los adultos de confianza que los rodean en Sunnydale — las personas que están aquí para escucharlos, animarlos, ayudarlos y recordarles que siempre tienen a alguien de su lado.

Y algunos de nuestros momentos favoritos ni siquiera fueron planeados. 🥹 Vimos a uno de nuestros maestros de 5.º grado jugando básquetbol con sus estudiantes durante el recreo 🏀, al Sr. Chris dando “high-fives” para alegrarles el día a nuestros estudiantes 🙌, ¡e incluso a nuestro director aprendiendo a hacer un n**o de corbatín para un estudiante durante el Día de Fotos! 🎀📸

Estos pequeños momentos son GRANDES recordatorios de cuántos adultos atentos y de confianza rodean a nuestros Skyhawks todos los días. 🫶

¡Y esto apenas comienza! 👀✨ La próxima semana estará llena de divertidas actividades de Adultos de Confianza que darán a nuestros estudiantes aún más oportunidades para conectarse, explorar nuestro plantel, conocer a las personas que forman parte de su equipo y practicar cómo pedir ayuda cuando la necesiten.

💙🦅 WHO’S ON YOUR TEAM? 🦅💛

Our Trusted Adult initiative is officially underway at Sunnydale, and this is only the beginning! ✨

This week, we’re kicking things off with Trusted Adult Spirit Week! Our goal is simple: we want every Skyhawk to begin recognizing the adults on campus who are in their corner — the people they can talk to, ask for help, and count on when they need support. 💙

Throughout the week, we’ll continue introducing students to the amazing adults who make up our Sunnydale team. By the end of the week, we’ll also have a special Trusted Adult bulletin board in our cafeteria featuring the many faces of the adults our students have on their side! 🫶

📸 We weren’t able to capture everyone in this video, so don’t worry — more trusted adult faces and photos of your kids are coming!

And we’re not stopping there! 👀⚾ Next week will be filled with activities for our students designed to help them connect with trusted adults, practice asking for help, learn more about the people around campus, and build their own support team.

¡Nuestra iniciativa de Adultos de Confianza ya comenzó en Sunnydale, y esto es solo el principio! ✨

Esta semana comenzamos con nuestra Semana de Espíritu de Adultos de Confianza. Nuestro objetivo es sencillo: queremos que cada Skyhawk comience a reconocer a los adultos de nuestro plantel que están de su lado — personas con quienes pueden hablar, a quienes pueden pedir ayuda y en quienes pueden confiar cuando necesiten apoyo. 💙

Durante la semana, continuaremos presentando a nuestros estudiantes a los increíbles adultos que forman parte del equipo de Sunnydale. Al final de la semana, también tendremos un mural especial de Adultos de Confianza en nuestra cafetería, donde nuestros estudiantes podrán ver las muchas caras de los adultos que están de su lado. 🫶

🦅💙 TRUSTED ADULT SPIRIT WEEK IS NEXT WEEK! 💛✨

Sunnydale families, get ready for a fun and meaningful week! From August 31–September 4, we’ll be celebrating Trusted Adult Spirit Week!

Throughout the week, our Skyhawks will learn about the importance of having trusted adults in their lives and recognizing the people they can turn to when they need help, support, encouragement, or simply someone to listen. 💙

Of course, we’re adding a little school spirit along the way! 🙌 Check out each day’s theme and get ready to participate:

📚✨ Back to School Night was a success! ✨📚

A huge THANK YOU to all of our Sunnydale families and students who joined us last night! 💙 We had such a great turnout, and we loved seeing our campus filled with our Skyhawk families.

A special shoutout to our amazing teachers and staff for all of their hard work in welcoming families into their classrooms and helping make the evening so special! 🦅💙

We’d also like to thank our wonderful community partners and vendors for joining us and sharing valuable resources with our families: YMCA, CCRC (Child Care Resource Center), AVPH, Wesley Health Center, Penny Lane Centers, and LA County Library. 🤝✨

We kicked off our first staff meeting by coming together, getting connected, and signing our Social Contract! 🤝✨

Just like our students, we believe in setting clear expectations, supporting one another, and modeling the positive behaviors we want to see every day. 💙 When we communicate, collaborate, and hold each other accountable, we create a stronger team and an even stronger school community!

💙⚾️ What an incredible Opening Day! ⚾️💙

Thank you to all of our amazing Sunnydale families who came out to help us kick off the new school year! We loved seeing so many smiling faces as we welcomed everyone back to campus. 💛

Our baseball-themed Opening Day was a home run! Families had the chance to:
⚾ Find class lists
🎯 Complete a fun Bingo card around campus
🎉 Visit our PBIS table and earn their very first SkyBucks
🛍️ Explore our Open Day Market
🎲 Play games and enjoy activities
🍿 Grab some popcorn
👋 Meet our incredible Sunnydale staff
💙 And get excited for an amazing year ahead!

Seeing our campus filled with laughter, excitement, and the support of our Sunnydale community reminded us just how special our Skyhawk family truly is.
