The Diplomatic Congress is the central student government at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaste

As the central student government of Franklin & Marshall College, the Diplomatic Congress unites student leaders from all facets of the community with the common purpose of promoting a diverse and engaging campus culture and improving all aspects of the student experience. To this end, Congress is tasked with the following: coordinating student participation in the shared governance of the college, overseeing the activities of—and facilitating collaboration between—various student governing bodies, primary funding for, and oversight of, campus-wide events and student activities, and advocacy on behalf of the student body on all critical matters facing the college.

This weekend, members of our Diplomatic Congress had the opportunity to attend the Mid-Atlantic Student Government Leadership Summit hosted by Washington College! We loved connecting with student leaders from across the region, exchanging ideas, and learning new ways to strengthen student government and better serve our campus community.

Thank you to Washington College SGA for bringing student leaders together for such a meaningful experience!

The Diplomatic Congress and F&M’s CWI Action Council committee are pleased to present a Conversation on Community featuring Mayor Jaime Arroyo and President Andy Rich.

Thursday October 1st 11:30am-12:30pm Location: Roschel Auditorium, light snacks provided!

Mayor Arroyo and President Rich will discuss their roles as leaders of Lancaster City and Franklin and Marshall College, and will consider ways to strengthen the relationship between the City and the College so that, together, we can make our community an even better place.

Want to get involved and make an impact on campus? Here are some ways to get involved:

Student Representatives on Faculty Committees
- Apply to represent the student body on committees such as the Committee on Enrollment or Common Hour Committee.

Standing Committee Chairs
- Take a leadership role in areas that directly impact student life, including Academic Life, Housing, Dining, and more.

Run for an Elected Position
- Applications are currently open for First-Year Class President, two First-Year Class Senators, and a Senior Class Senator through a special election.

The Diplomat Welcome Party is almost here and we can’t wait to see you there!

Join us August 28 from 8–11 PM on Hartman Green for a night of DJ performances, food trucks, drinks, games, and more!

21+ students can enjoy up to 3 complimentary alcoholic beverages. Age eligibility will be verified using information already on file with the College, so please follow all event guidelines when receiving drinks.
