School board service isn’t easy, and we are so grateful for the people who are willing to step up and serve our students, staff, families, and community.

From all of us at Friends of Winskill, thank you Mike Steffel, Tanya Moore, Jerry Vesperman, Dean Noethe, Andrew Taylor, Chad Olmstead, Gina Rollins, Nate Gallagher, and Ned Huebner for your selfless commitment, thoughtful leadership, and the many decisions you make in support of our schools.

We appreciate the time and care you give to helping Lancaster Community Schools remain a place where our students, teachers, and staff can thrive. 💙💛

🏫 School board service carries a significant amount of responsibility, and we have a fantastic group of dedicated leaders in our school district.

Never been to the Glow Run? Here’s what you need to know!

First things first: it’s not really a race. There’s no starting gun, no finish line, and no pressure to see who is fastest.

Come anytime between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m., and stay as long as you’d like! Walk, run, or roll around the track. Dance to the music. Grab some dinner. Load up on glow gear. Visit with friends. Let the kids have fun.

The Glow Run is really just one big night for our Winskill families and Lancaster community to be together.

Throughout October, Friends of Winskill is inviting families to help with a simple 2 + 2:

💙 2 boxes of tissues
💛 2-pack of disinfectant wipes

This is completely voluntary, and families can donate whatever works for them. You can send items to school any time during October.

We’ll also send a flyer home before Parent-Teacher Conferences. If it’s easier, bring your donation along to conferences and drop it off then!

It’s a small way we can help stock the supplies our teachers use every day to care for our kids. Thank you for supporting Winskill! 💙💛

What a great day to celebrate Lancaster and 250 years of America! 🇺🇸💙💛

Friends of Winskill was proud to be part of the Harvest Festival Parade today!

A big thank you to the Lancaster Area Chamber of Commerce for putting together another wonderful community event, and an extra thank you to our Friends of Winskill board members who planned, decorated, and brought our float to life.

We are so grateful to be part of a community that shows up for its schools, its families, and each other. Happy Harvest Festival, Lancaster!

🎄 We know it might feel a little early to be thinking about the holidays, but decorating day is only about a month and a half away! We wanted to give everyone plenty of time to fit us into their calendars.

Friends of Winskill is looking for volunteers to help decorate the school on Wednesday, November 25 (early release day before Thanksgiving). We’ll hang lights, decorate trees, and set up decorations throughout the school to make Winskill feel festive and fun for our students.

We have two shifts available:
✨ 12:00–3:00 p.m.
✨ 3:00–6:00 p.m.

We’re hoping for about 10 volunteers per shift. There will be plenty of jobs for everyone, with some light lifting needed for a few of the decorating tasks.

If you can spend part of your afternoon helping us bring a little holiday magic to Winskill, we’d love to have you!
