Children are always learning, even when they’re just watching. 👀🎶

In early childhood, observation is a powerful way to absorb new skills. When children see grown-ups and other kids singing, moving, and playing with the music, they’re learning rhythm, language, and confidence at their own pace.

In Music Together classes, every child participates in their own way, sometimes by jumping right in, and sometimes by quietly observing until they’re ready. Both are meaningful parts of the learning process. 💚

Our favorite Saturday mood: music, movement, and joyful play. 🎶

In Music Together classes, families sing, dance, play instruments, and discover the joy of music together—while building important skills for early childhood development.

Come make music with us!

Dancing with your child isn’t just fun, it’s powerful for development. 🎶

When parents move and sing alongside their kids, children are strengthening:
• coordination and balance
• listening and rhythm skills
• social connection and confidence

That’s why in Music Together classes, grown-ups don’t sit on the sidelines, we make music together.

“Music Together is research-based, kid-focused, and there are no expectations of the children. Not that they sit down, not that they dance at the appropriate time, not that they even stay in the circle with the other parents and kids. The only expectations and rules are for the parents.” Read on for more about this parent’s search for a truly accepting children’s program: https://adhdhomestead.net/music-together/

Bringing Family Music Making to Central PA

Your life as a parent can sometimes feel like a laundry list of tasks—feeding, wiping, cleaning, bathing—with periodic breaks to grab a fistful of snack crackers and wipe the spit-up off your shirt.

When I took over Music Together at PPAS in 2014, I was right there with you! With two kiddos who are 18 months apart, it was hard to see past the end of the toddlerhood tunnel! Now my kids are 5 and 6, and while I am no longer wiping spit-up off of my shirt, I’ve traded it for new adventures in parenting, and Music Together is still a huge part of our home life.

I began in Music Together as a pregnant mom with a 1 year old, and I LOVED every minute of it. I was relatively new to the area, completely exhausted, and Music Together class provided a place where there was a community of parents to help me keep track of my new toddler in a fun, musical environment. Not only that, but it gave me the opportunity to develop relationships with other parents. It was exactly what I needed.

That’s why I know that what you really need, more than endless cleaning tasks and laundry, is some fun!
