Today I cancelled lifting. I am excited at the start of our offseason preparation, but sometimes I need a mental health day. Some days I want to go home, cuddle my babies, make a home cooked meal, and be present in my other roles.... with softball on the back burner. This week has been a little rough. Landrey is beginning her threenager years and has tested the waters. In frustration I had to hear the words I don’t like you, I love daddy more, and I want a new mommy. We are missing daddy and beginning our transition into our winter season as a family. I am often the fun, the order, and the discipline. While a new day of parenting has begun and learning to guide a conscience into feeling remorseful for the hurtful words we say, it still is very difficult to hear those things come from your child’s mouth. Today I canceled lifting. I told my girls to go home, get into their pajamas, and snuggle up with their mom or dad. I received the following pictures this evening and my heart is happy. As our children age we are never quite certain when the last time of something will take place. I’m willing to bet that the moments that were created tonight with my players and their parents, at home in their house, are ones that are cherished. The greatest work we will ever do this within the walls of our home.

“Nothing will work unless you do”. Spent some time giving some TLC to this beauty of a field today. I love when my players buy in to making our facilities the best they can be! Mommy/Coach also loves her gator therapy!
