🏐The Lancaster volleyball team will return to the friendly confines of LHS to host Dodgeville for Pink Night a week from tonight.

💗 Don't miss the bake sale in the cafeteria and a bucket run between sets of the varsity match. All proceeds will benefit the Grant County Cancer Coalition.

🍎 The calendar has turned to October and that means pumpkin season, but our Winskill Elementary School four-year-old kindergarten students had a great time peeling and dicing apples last week as they prepared to make applesauce.

🎨 Meet this week's Artist of the Week, Lancaster High School's Lydia Fuerstenberg!

🗣 "Lydia is our Artist of the Week because of this beautiful yarn bowl she created. I was lucky enough to hear from multiple staff members how she traveled around with her bowl, creating it and concentrating on her technique," Lancaster Middle/High School Art teacher Mari Schneider shared. "From her color selection to how sturdy the bowl actually is, definitely makes this work a show stopper. We are excited to see Lydia continue her visual arts journey in high school now! 3D Art is definitely her jam!"

1️⃣4️⃣ After debuting at number 14 in last week's Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association Coaches Poll, the Lancaster girls cross country team held steady at 14 in the Week 6 poll released yesterday.

🔍 Lancaster High School's annual Career Exploration Day will be held next Tuesday, Oct. 13.

🤝 Our Flying Arrows will have a chance to visit with representatives of more than 20 local businesses at our Career Fair, including Amcor, InsightFS, State Farm Insurance, Southwest Tech and UW-Platteville. Leadership activities and demonstrations will be offered as well.

🗺 New this year, our Seniors will be touring local businesses in the afternoon to visit with and learn from business leaders.

🙌 We are excited to offer these great opportunities to our students at LHS!

🏫 Diane Morgan, who passed along this photo, noted 138 Flying Arrows graduated in 1971.

🛣 Author Carter Hamric made the journey from Nashville to Southwest Wisconsin and stopped by Winskill Elementary School on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 24.

📖 Carter shared the steps of the writing and publishing process with our Flying Arrows in four-year-old kindergarten through second grade, and also read his latest book, "Big Ole Day at the Farm." "Big Ole Day at the Farm" is formatted as a musical storybook featuring a QR code that readers can scan to listen to the companion song while reading along.

🎟 Ticket punched!

⛳ Lancaster girls golf's Margot Dhyanchand placed sixth at yesterday's WIAA Division 2 Prairie du Chien sectional and qualified for next week's state girls golf tournament.

👏 "We're so extremely proud and happy for her," shared Lancaster girls golf head coach Andy Haas.

🗓 The state girls golf tournament will be played at University Ridge in Madison next Monday and Tuesday. This will be Margot's second appearance at the state tournament, as she was a member of Lancaster's qualifying team in 2023.

🙌 Congratulations to Margot, coach Haas, and assistant coaches Rich Dhyanchand and Adam Hampton!
