Did you know Anchor Christian Academy is connected to 47 churches across our area? 🙌 Most of these connections come through the families of our students, churches from many different denominations, all represented in our hallways and classrooms.

It's a beautiful picture of the Body of Christ coming together around a shared commitment: raising the next generation with a strong academic foundation and a Christ-centered worldview. Whatever your church background, you're part of a community that shows up for Anchor students every day.

Mark your calendars 📅 — Anchor Christian Academy is participating in Faithful Give 2026!

Faithful Give is more than a fundraiser — it's a movement. Join us October 18–20 for three days of giving, serving, and praying with the Body of Christ across Lancaster County.

This week's volunteer spotlight is a family affair 💛 — meet Monica and her daughter Kallie, two of our amazing Lunch Assistants!

Monica and Kallie help set out snacks and soda for students to purchase at lunchtime — a small task that means a lot. "I cherish getting to know the students better," Monica shared, "and I love seeing my own kids in the school setting, interacting with their friends." For Kallie, it's just as special: "I think it's cool that I get to have lunch with my siblings," she said, "and I've even gotten to know and become friends with some of the other 'big kids.'"

Volunteering at Anchor has become a favorite part of their week — a welcome break from the books and a chance to be part of the Anchor community. And with a flexible sign-up schedule, they simply choose the days that work best for them.

As Anchor's basketball program grows, so does our need for coaches! 📣 This year we're adding two brand new teams, Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls, and a few of our returning coaches (many of whom were college students) aren't able to come back. That means we're hiring for several paid coaching roles this season: Varsity Girls, Middle School Girls, Middle School Boys, plus assistant coaches at nearly every level.

We're looking for coaches who can teach the fundamentals of the game while mentoring student-athletes in the character, teamwork, and sportsmanship that make a real difference on and off the court. If that sounds like you, or someone you know, we'd love to hear from you.

Learning at Anchor doesn't stop at the classroom door. 🚌 Almost every month, our students head out to learn and serve somewhere new, and parents and staff often go right along with them.

Some trips stay close to home, like exploring Lancaster County parks. Others take students a bit further: touring the Reading Museum and Biblical Tabernacle in Berks County, a two-day sailing and camping trip on the Chesapeake Bay departing from Baltimore, a trip to Washington D.C., or three days of camping and biking in Gettysburg. And for our 11th and 12th graders, the opportunities go even further still. Each May, juniors and seniors take a four-day trip to either New York City for Worldviews in the Wild or Boston for a World Religions Survey (this year, they're headed to Boston), plus a service trip all the way to Guatemala.

Alongside our field trips, every grade also takes part in hands-on service, from packing food at Blessings of Hope, to serving at the Columbia Dream Center, to supporting Align Pregnancy Center. It's students, parents, and staff learning and serving side by side, outside the walls of Anchor and outside their own homes.

That's what a university-model education looks like in action. The classroom extends into the world. 🌎

Big news 🏀 — Anchor is expanding our basketball program to include both a boys' and girls' varsity team! We're excited about what this means for more of our students to be FORMED (this year's spiritual theme) through the character building, teamwork, and sportsmanship that athletics uniquely teaches.

To make this expansion possible, we need to raise support for baskets, backboards, uniforms, and a new scoreboard that meets competition requirements. Every gift, big or small, gets us closer to tip-off. 🙌

Our hallways are full of life again! 🎉 After a summer of rest, Anchor Christian Academy is buzzing once more with the sound of students, parents, and teachers walking through our doors together — and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome you all to the 2026-27 school year!

We start this year the way we start everything here: in prayer. Lord, we ask Your blessing over every student stepping into a new grade, every teacher and staff member preparing hearts and minds, and every parent partnering with us in this journey. Cover our school with Your wisdom, protection, and joy this year.

And speaking of partnership — that's what makes Anchor different. You don't just drop your kids off here; you walk these halls with us. What does it truly look like to serve like Jesus?

Last week, our junior and senior students traveled to Guatemala to serve alongside different vocational ministry leaders! Stepping into the hands-on missions work and living out their faith beyond the classroom. From building relationships to supporting local ministries, the impact both internally and externally was all around.

We’re so proud of how these students represented our school and Christ with humility, courage, and compassion.
