Summer is officially here – and so is our 2026-27 season! We’re excited to share a first look at what the LCDS Theatre Program has planned for the upcoming school year.

As this action-packed year of learning comes to a close and summer arrives, please consider a gift that will serve our students for years to come.

✨ A gift to The Excellence Fund supports everything that makes LCDS a special place – and you can make your donation in honor of a beloved teacher or friend.

🎶 Now more than 40 years old, the school’s Steinway piano – a hallmark of our music lessons and recitals – is in need of work. A generous donor has offered $10,000 toward the $15,000 repair bill… and we are looking for the community to support the rest. If the LCDS Music Program makes your heart soar, please consider a gift to this effort.

🏆 Lombardo Turf Fields – our newest athletic amenity – opened this spring. All gifts will help with further enhancements of the fields and adjacent facilities. If you wish for your name to be included on the permanent donor recognition adjacent to the field, we would love to speak with you about naming opportunities.

Today, we’re happy to welcome local independent bookstore Pocket Books Shop to campus for the Upper School Summer Reading Book Fair!

The US summer reading program is shaped by our students. Each year, a student-led committee develops the overarching theme – this year’s focus is on “love in its many forms” – and curates a shortlist of exceptional books. The titles range from dystopian classics and historical non-fiction to moving contemporary memoirs, ensuring every LCDS student finds a narrative to both challenge and inspire them.

Summer reading is proven to keep minds sharp, build lifelong reading habits, and create a shared language across campus. When we return in August, all of our Upper Schoolers will gather to lead and participate in community-wide book discussions, offering unique leadership opportunities right from the start of a new year.

This month, we hosted our annual Athletics College Commitment Ceremony, celebrating the six members of the Class of 2026 who will continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. They are:
