CELEBRATING HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH!

At LAPCS, our heritage is part of what makes our Pride so special. We celebrate the languages, cultures, traditions, families, stories, and experiences that make up our school community.

This month, we’re taking time to learn from one another, celebrate where we come from, and recognize the many different backgrounds that make LAPCS who we are.

Because our differences don’t divide our Pride—they add to it.

Here’s to celebrating our roots, honoring our stories, and inspiring the next generation to carry them forward.

MATH IN ACTION!

Mrs. Carver’s 6th grade class was locked in today! 👏 Students were engaged, participating, asking questions, and putting their math skills to work throughout the lesson.

We love seeing our students take ownership of their learning—and families, we want you to be part of it too! Ask your student what they’re learning, have them teach you a problem they worked on today, and keep the conversation going at home.

Your involvement makes a difference. When school and families work together, our students have an even stronger support system to succeed.

EXPLORING THE SOLAR SYSTEM!

Our students are taking a trip through the solar system in Ms. Bleacher’s classroom!

They’re learning about the different planets, how far they are from one another, and what the atmosphere is like on each planet. From distances to environments, our students are exploring what makes each world unique!

Just another day of learning, exploring, and asking big questions at LAPCS.

Parents and families, come see LAPCS through your student’s eyes!

Join us Thursday, September 24th from 5:30–7:30 PM for an evening designed specifically for our LAPCS families.

Walk through your student’s schedule, meet their teachers, learn what’s happening in each class, and get a closer look at the experiences that make up their school day.

We’ll also have empanadas and refreshments.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at how one of our students was feeling before sharing the 9/11 remembrance message over the intercom on Friday.

What might seem like a small thing to some is actually a milestone for others. Standing in front of the school community, speaking over the intercom, and taking ownership of an important message takes courage and confidence.

Moments like this are about more than keeping our community informed. They’re about building confidence, creating ownership, and giving our students a voice in the culture of LAPCS.

And just look at the way she was received when she came back to class…

THE PRIDE WAS WAITING!

Her classmates showered her with love, support, and encouragement—and THAT is what building community looks like.

Today, our LAPCS community took a moment to remember September 11, 2001, one of the most tragic days in our nation’s history. One of our students shared a message over the intercom, including a moment of silence at 10:28 AM, while other students came together to participate in our 9/11 tribute video. We remembered the thousands of lives lost and honored the incredible bravery of the first responders, passengers, workers, and everyday people who helped others in the face of unimaginable danger. We will never forget their courage, their sacrifice, or the impact of that day.

He knows how to keep his students engaged, focused, and ready to tackle the next challenge in math class. From working through problems to thinking critically, his students are putting their skills to work!

LAPCS OPEN HOUSE — SEPTEMBER 24TH!

LAPCS families, we’re excited to welcome you to our Open House on Thursday, September 24th from 5:30–7:30 PM!

This evening is all about giving parents and families a closer look at their student’s school experience. Parents will have the opportunity to walk through their student’s schedule, meet their teachers, and learn more about what’s happening in each class.

Come ask questions, connect with our staff, and get a better understanding of what your student is learning and experiencing each day. We will also have information about our upcoming After School Programs.

And, of course, we’ll have empanadas and refreshments for everyone to enjoy!
