Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Cougars kicked off the year learning how we can all help make Amargosa Creek a safe, respectful, and successful place to learn. 💜🐾

In partnership with the City of Lancaster, we’d like to share an important traffic safety announcement about student drop-off and pick-up.

To improve safety and traffic flow around our school, the City has introduced a Dynamic Lane Configuration on Avenue J.

Most of the day, the lane next to the curb is a bike lane, providing a safe place for people riding bicycles. But during busy school drop-off and pick-up times, that same lane temporarily changes into a vehicle queuing lane, giving parents and guardians extra space to line up as they enter the school. Once the busy traffic period is over, the lane changes back to a bike lane.

You will notice new traffic signs and pavement markings that let drivers know when the lane is operating as a bike lane and when it is operating as a school queuing lane.

Please remember that Avenue J is for vehicle queuing only. Students should not be dropped off or picked up on Avenue J. If you are driven to or from school, please remind your parents or guardians to use the school’s designated loading and unloading area and to follow all posted signs, pavement markings, and directions from school staff.

By working together and following these new traffic patterns, we can help keep everyone safer, reduce traffic congestion, and make arrival and dismissal smoother for students, families, bicyclists, and our neighbors.
