Central PA HOBY is a non-profit organization focused on motivating and empowering young people to make a positive difference within our society through understanding and action. For more than 50 years HOBY has been known as the nation’s premier youth leadership development organization. Founded by actor Hugh O’Brian, HOBY works to help students become positive catalysts for change — in the home, s

chool, and community. Our Vision is to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action based on effective and compassionate leadership. Our Mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. Our Core Values include:

Volunteerism – Volunteerism is the heart and soul of our organization. We appreciate the myriad contributions of our volunteers, and recognize the power of thank you and of giving back. We seek to promote and encourage service among our stakeholders. We recognize and value the positive accomplishments that volunteers can achieve by working together. Even though we are sad it’s over, we are so thankful for an OUTSTANDING 2026 seminar. On our last day together, ambassadors heard from a panel of three CPA alumni and heard about how HOBY has impacted their lives to kick start the question, “what will you do with this?” Ambassadors spent time reflecting on their time here and what life looks like with HOBY before celebrating the weekend at closing ceremonies! Thank you everyone who was involved in making this another successful year. 2026 ambassadors, you are now alumni. Welcome to the HOBY family, and remember, you will always have a home with HOBY!

HUGE congrats to ALL of our Graduate All-Stars 💫 We’ll be highlighting Gavin and Sabeen who are both 2020 HOBY alums!

1️⃣ Gavin graduated from PennWest Edinboro as an Secondary Education English Language Arts and Special Education PreK-12 major. Gavin will continue as a middle school special education teacher.

2️⃣ Sabeen graduated from Muhlenberg College as a Public Health major. Sabeen will continue her studies at Penn Dental Medicine.
