Today we'd like to introduce you to Taylor, a member of the varsity girls volleyball team who excels on the field as well as in the classroom. We asked Taylor a few questions. Here are her responses:

Q: How many years have you been playing volleyball?
A: 5 years!

Q: What is a fun fact about you?
A: I have never broken a bone.

Q: What is your favorite part about being on the volleyball team?
A:I love the community and playing the sport I love with my friends.

Q: This year's focus for athletics is "Called Up". How have you felt called up by your teammates and/or coaches this year?
A: My teammates and coaches have done an amazing job of keeping each other accountable which is good discipline for me and has called me up to be a better teammate.

Q: What is your favorite verse and why?
A: Jeremiah 29:11 because it reminds me that the Lord is always in control and his plans are so much better than my own.

We received a shipment of crew necks just in time for the cooler weather! Purchase a Living Word Academy or Lancaster Christian School alumni shirt at homecoming this weekend, or stop by Suite100 at the school to grab one of our black LCCS crew necks! Black crew necks are $30 and our alumni crew necks are $15.

It's Meet Me Monday! Meet Mrs. Labrie:
-She is from Johnstown, PA, she got married in January, and she has lots of plants!
-She earned her degree from Lancaster Bible College.
-She attends Christ House EC Church and her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
-She enjoys caring for her plants (and buying new plants to replace the casualties), traveling, and running.
-Mrs. Labrie says she is excited about "having opportunities to regularly serve others in meaningful ways."

On Wednesday, our Property Management Academy students took a trip to Village Greens! While there, students got an inside look at property operations and management and gained hands-on experience cleaning and organizing some of the amenities. We’re so thankful for opportunities like these that allow our students to learn beyond the classroom and gain real-world experience!

Plan to enjoy a chicken bbq dinner during our homecoming events on Friday, September 25! If you preorder, chicken alone is $9 and meals are $14. Meals include a half chicken, chips, roll, applesauce, cookie, and water. Preorder tickets for the early bird special and guarantee your meal before they're sold out! The cost will increase by $1 per meal/chicken if you wait and order in person next Friday. Pick up runs from 2-5 pm. Preorder tickets using the link in our bio.

Last night we hosted our annual senior dinner! Each year, we like to honor our seniors for the hard work they’ve put in during their time at LCCS, and challenge them to finish strong. The night started out with food & fellowship, then led into a charge from Mr. Long to the seniors about making the most of their final 100-something days of school. He challenged each student to write a letter to their future selves, identifying who they hope to be when they graduate and how they hope to be remembered by our community. The evening wrapped up with parents joining in for dessert and sharing what they wish they would have known when they were seniors. All in all, it was a special evening of looking forward to the future.

Also, five of our girls held onto the letters they wrote back at their eighth grade dinner, earning them a special lunch with Mr. Long.

📢CALLING ALL SOCCER CHAMPIONS⚽️🏆

We will be recognizing and honoring all of our past CCAC soccer champions during our homecoming games next Friday! Boys soccer champions should plan to join us during halftime of the boys soccer game (3:45 start time), and girls soccer champions should plan to join us during halftime of the girls soccer game (5:15 start time).

If you were a part of any soccer team that won a CCAC championship game with either LWA, LCS, or LCCS, we’d love to celebrate you next week!

Today we'd like to introduce you to Abby, a captain of the varisty girls soccer team who excels on the field as well as in the classroom. We asked Abby a few questions. Here are her responses:

Q: How many years have you been playing soccer?
A: 9 years!

Q: What is a fun fact about you?
A: I love to water ski and snow ski!

Q: What is your favorite part about being on the soccer team?
A: My favorite part about being on the team is the community and the way our team is truly a family!

Q: This year's focus for athletics is "Called Up". How have you felt called up by your teammates and/or coaches this year?
A: My teammates and coaches have done an amazing job of keeping each other accountable which is good discipline for me and has called me up to be a better teammate.

Q: What is your favorite verse and why?
A: My favorite scripture is Philippians 4:6-7 because I tend to become anxious often but these verses remind me that the peace of the Lord surpasses all understanding!
