In honor of CNA appreciation week, which begins June 15th to June 21st, our campers came together to write big words of encouragement to show gratitude and appreciation to CNA’s. They put all of their notes in a jar that included a succulent at the bottom which represents Tenacity, Strength, Selflessness, and Love. This jar was gifted to the CNA’s at Antelope Valley Care Center. Thank you to the Administrator for incorporating their presentation into your staff meeting today. Thanks to all of the staff who were so welcoming and supportive of our campers.

We need your help!! Our small group of youth ages 4-15 are raising awareness for causes that affect our community. Each week we learn about a new cause and find different ways to be proactive within our city, but we need to raise more funds for transportation, materials, and resources that will allow our small group to make a big change this summer.

The camp is primarily funded by donations because it caters to low income households. With this being the first year of camp and our group consisting of about 15 kids, it’s important that we spread the word in order to get as much financial backing as possible, so that we can raise awareness to as many causes as we can this summer.

This week we raised awareness for Alzheimer’s. Our youth worked on an art piece and gifted it to an assistant living facility. They also presented it to a small group of residents and were able to share what they learned. You can view the experience here… https://instagram.com/p/CtP7fF4PYN_/
