The varsity teams traveled to the Vista Ridge Invitational today to compete. We had a GREAT day vs some solid competition. Our goal on the girls side was to stay in a pack and drop times together, and the boys goal was to be better than last week and go compete hard. These kids did just that!
Freshman Hadlee McCorkle led the varsity girls with a time of 12:48, medaled and placed 3rd overall. Kenzie Stone was our 2nd girl with a time of 14:54 , Aislyn Tiscareno was 15:01, Sophia Storm was our number 4 with 15:06 and Alix McMasters had her first varsity appearance and was our number 5 with a 15:10 time. As you can see, they ran pretty close together which will be HUGE for us come district. ALL the girls times dropped this week, and we can't wait to see what next week has in store for them.
Cohen Watson led the boys with a time of 18:04; he medaled placing 2nd overall! Fidencio Gaspar was our number 2 boy with a time of 20:32, Ethan Bullard was number 3 with 21:37, Asher Wade right after with a time of 21:39 and Elijah Harbin was 22:07. This was a lot of the boys first varsity run, so we are excited to continue to see their times drop.
We have as short turn around next week with our next meet being on Wednesday in Brownwood.
