Lamoni Community Schools

Lamoni Community Schools Lamoni Community School District is located in South-Central Iowa, roughly 5 miles from the Missouri Border, in Lamoni, Iowa.

The school district consists of three centers - elementary school, middle school, and high school (which are all connected). The elementary school is a regional and state leader in curriculum development. It was one of the first schools in the state to develop a natural approach to reading and writing instruction. The faculty has also added manipulatives to the math curriculum and adopted cooperat

ive learning across several grade levels. The elementary school is fortunate to have one state-funded preschool classroom that can serve up to 20 children. The middle school has a variety of special features including team planning, exploratory courses, and age appropriate social activities. The high school offers an excellent array of courses on the home campus and through cooperative programs with Southwestern Community College on the campus of Central Decatur High School and Graceland University. The cooperative program through Graceland University provides students with the ability to attend university level courses for which they can receive college credit. The school enjoys strong community support and an active booster club.

Staff Spotlight: Welcome Lacey Johnson, Our New District Librarian! ✨

We are thrilled to announce that Lacey Johnson is transitioning from the classroom to the library! 📚 Join us in wishing her congratulations as she steps into this new role.

For Lacey, becoming a librarian is the ultimate way to blend her twin passions: teaching and reading. She’s looking forward to working with students across the entire district, building strong relationships with families, and watching our kids grow from pre-K all the way through graduation. 🎓

Her goal for the library? To make it a warm, welcoming hub where every student feels free to be curious, explore new interests, and discover books that spark a lifelong love of reading.

💻 Returning Families: Please use ONLINE registration to register your students. If you need help recovering your username or password, just contact your school's main office!
🏫 New Families: Welcome to the district! ON-SITE registration is just for you. Stop by the Commons between 3-7 PM.

🚧 Parking Lot Improvements Underway! 🚧

Work is underway on improvements to our school parking lot as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, accessibility, and facility improvement.

Once completed, the new pavement will provide students with a safe and secure path to and from the Ag building, which is also an ADA-accessible route. The project will also add handicap-accessible parking, helping make our campus more welcoming and accessible for everyone.

We appreciate your patience while this work is completed and look forward to the lasting improvements it will bring to our students, families, staff, and community.
