The learning continued throughout our week!

🍎 Our 3's learned all about apples/leaves in preparation for our Apple Orchard field trip on Tuesday!

Meanwhile our 4's worked on patterns 🍎🎃🍎🎃
Conquered the letter E 🍆
And learned how to play a school favorite, musical chairs! 🎶🪑

🐷🐷🐷And finally our big kids ended the week with The Three Little Pigs Day. While learning about the number 3, students became engineers themselves and worked together to build a Straw (pipe cleaners) 🌾 Stick 🪵 (marshmallow and toothpicks) or Brick (megablocks) 🧱 house. Then Mrs D 🐺 (aka the big bad wolf) tried to blow down all the houses 🌬️ These smart cookies did SO good NOT ONE SINGLE HOUSE FELL. 😮😮 No matter how much Mrs D huffed and puffed (and used a hair dryer). Way to go smart kids!

We hope everyone has an Excellent weekend 🥰

😎 When it's 85 and sunny ☀️ in October you have to bust out the water squirters 🌊 These friends didn't give their teachers a chance, the attack was immediate and successful 😂

We hope all our friends are enjoying one last round of sunshine and warmth on this beautiful afternoon 🥰

E is for EGGPLANT 🍆 and EVERY. SINGLE. STUDENT braved trying the eggplant today 😮

👃 We learned it smells like an apple 🍎
🖐️ Feels like a bouncy ball on the outside and a sponge 🧽 on the inside
👄 And tastes like .... "kinda good" "delicious!" "Not that bad" "🤢🤢🤮" .... It was a mixed reaction 🥰

Then we played Hot Eggplant (hot potato) and our friend Elsa won the eggplant! 😂

Congrats 🎉 to all our big kids for trying something new! ❤️

🥕 Carrots (C) and 🍩 donuts (D) and ⭕ circles, oh my!

Students had a jam packed week of learning and giggling 🥰

In Bible we learned how God created the WHOLE WORLD 🌍 in just 6 days 😳. Students discussed at length day 1, when God said "Let there be light" and day 2 when we gained the ☁️ sky and waters 🌊.

🎶 Everyone also worked hard on their Harvest Party songs, we'll have quite the performance ready for all our grown ups at the end of the month! 🍎🎃

Have a D-lightful weekend!

Monday was letter C day, which meant everyone had the MOST fun painting 🖌️ carrots with ....well, 🥕 CARROTS 😂😂. Although some of our paintings were a little more abstract than others 😉 Check your child's tubby in the morning for their final interpretation of a carrot ♥️

What an A-mazing week! 😉

🔠 This week our youngest friends worked on their ABC's while our 4's focused on letter A.

A is for 🍎 APPLES 🍏. We taste tested red vs green and it was pretty clear RED is the class favorite!

📷 We all had Picture Day and EVERY 👏 SINGLE 👏 STUDENT 👏 smiled so big 😊 Pretty brave for only the second week of school!

AND we worked on gluing 🫟 Bottle glue can be VERY messy but not when you know the rule: Dot Dot not a lot.

🎊 Lastly we said HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Avery, Cohen and Miss Sophia. We hope you all have/had the best day!!

😎 Have a fabulous weekend!

That's a wrap on week 1! Students rounded out the week learning:
How to share 🥰
The Goldfish Song 🐠
And a school favorite game, DODGEBALL 🔴. Our 4's got to picnic outside and our 3's were able to get in a Freeze Dance 💃🕺

Grown-ups: Don't forget to empty your students tubby at the end of the day. 😬 Forgotten homework/art projects will be in tubbies Monday/Tuesday, along with Picture Day 📷 forms!

😊 We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend 😊

🏫 These big kids were absolute rock stars last year at school and today was no different! They hit the ground running and didn't miss a beat ❤️

🧑‍🏫 Mrs D didn't even need to teach the rules, they already knew! At school we use:
WALKING feet 🐾
LISTENING ears 👂
WATCHING eyes 👀
KIND hands 🖐️
They even raised their hands 🙋 and waited their turns 😲

While we didn't get to play on the playground 😭 we did get to jump in muddy puddles 🌧️ and enjoy bits of fresh air. We also had time for Duck 🦆 Duck 🦆 Goose 🪿, Floor is Lava 🔥 AND sing the Goldfish Song

What an AMAZING first day!
