This Friday!!

10/02/2026

Lamar FFA attended the Ozark Fall Farmfest! Members spent the day exploring exhibits, learning more about agriculture, checking out new equipment and livestock. We are thankful for opportunities like this that allow our members to learn outside the classroom and experience the many different parts of the agriculture industry!

Today our sophomores through seniors traveled to UMC Field Day to participate in several presentations about current research and technology being used in the Ag Industry. They learned about drones and their various uses in agriculture and current cover crop research projects being conducted in Missouri. It was a hot but good day!

Area 9 FFA Greenhand Conference was last week!

Lamar FFA Greenhands had a great day at the Area 9 FFA Greenhand Conference!

This was a great opportunity for our first-year FFA members to learn more about the FFA, develop leadership skills, meet other FFA members from across Area 9. We are excited to see all that these Greenhands will accomplish throughout their FFA journey!

What a great week at FFA Camp!

Grevyn and Bryan had an incredible experience making memories, building friendships, and growing as leaders.

They both earned their State FFA Leadership Pin! This is awarded to campers who fully participate in all of the leadership opportunities camp has to offer!

When I asked them what the best part of camp was, they both said meeting FFA members from across the state.

A surprise highlight of the week was the Opry show. They weren’t sure what to expect, but it ended up being something they really enjoyed!

Congratulations, Grevyn and Bryan, on representing our chapter so well and for making the most of every opportunity at FFA Camp!

Members should have brought home this invite last week!

Today our FFA chapter hosted Food For America!

Our members had the opportunity to teach Pre-K through 5th grade students about where their food comes from through fun, hands-on learning experiences. Students rotated through 11 stations including cattle, horses, ice cream, rabbits, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens, tractors, ATV safety, and ducks.

The ice cream station was a huge hit! A big thank you to Austin Potthast and Nate Wheeler for taking the time to come and make ice cream for the students!

This event would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors:
• Compton Farms
• Doug and Cathy McKibben Farms
• J&J Morgan Farms
• Tom and Tauna Frieden Farms
• Ash Hollow
• Borhhardt Farms

We are so thankful for everyone who helped make today a success and for the opportunity to share agriculture with the next generation!
