Jerry (spouse) and Brent (son) Bates presented two LCC Nursing Students with checks as recipients of the 12th PAT BATES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.

Cris Bardales and Kaniesha Gonzales are both 2nd level students who will enter their final semester of the nursing program in Spring 2025. They were chosen as recipients due to their “never say quit” attitudes and perseverance, something Pat Bates valued.

Pat Bates was a nurse for 39 years helping local families and children in her work. In 2012, she passed away after battling cancer. Jerry and Brent continue her legacy through this generous support for nursing students on the last part of their journey to become RNs.

The nursing program and its faculty extend gratitude to the Bates family for their continued, generous support over the years.
