Welcome back, students and families! We can't wait to see you next week!

The 2026-2027 school year is almost here, and our buildings have been busy this week as our staff returned to prepare for another great year with our students!

Throughout the week, staff across Lamar School District have been hard at work participating in professional development, collaborating with colleagues, preparing classrooms, and making sure our schools are ready to welcome students and families back. We are incredibly thankful for the diligence, enthusiasm, and care our staff members have shown as they prepare for the year ahead.

Our Lamar School District Board of Education also made their way around the district this week, stopping by each of our schools with snacks for staff as a small welcome-back treat. We appreciate our Board taking the time to visit our buildings, connect with employees, and show their support as we kick off a new school year!

We wrapped up our return-to-school activities last night with an all-staff pool party, giving employees and their families an opportunity to spend time together and celebrate before the busy school year officially begins. It was a wonderful way to bring everyone together and recognize the people who make our schools such a special place.

To our staff: thank you. Thank you for the work you have already put in, for the preparation happening behind the scenes, and most importantly, for being ready to welcome our students back and give them your very best.

And to our families, thank you for continuing to place your trust in us. We recognize the tremendous responsibility that comes with being entrusted with your children each day, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. We are grateful for the partnership of our families and look forward to working alongside you to support, challenge, encourage, and celebrate our students throughout the year ahead.
