Before our Welding students head into the lab and start welding, they’re learning one of the most important parts of the trade — safety.

Students are getting familiar with their PPE, equipment, and safe work practices so they’re prepared to work confidently and responsibly in the lab.

This week, we visited Westlake, Rocky River, and Lakewood Open Houses to connect with students and families and share the many career-tech opportunities available through West Shore.

It was great meeting families, answering questions, and helping students learn how CTE can prepare them for college, careers, and their future.

We’re excited for a great year ahead!

Congratulations.

Last night the Board of Education recognized our amazing West Shore Career-Tech Culinary Arts students who competed in the Family Career and Consumer Leadership Association's national culinary contest in Washington, D.C. this summer. Carys Crone received congratulations for her outstanding accomplishment. Unfortunately, Finn Getz and Htoo Lweh Wah were unable to attend the meeting. We are so proud of these three young chefs!

Congratulations to West Shore Career-Tech MEMS teacher, Kyle White, for being named a finalist for the 2026 Best of Tech Awards, sponsored by the Greater Cleveland Partnership! Winners for the 20th annual awards program will be announced at a live event at the Museum of Natural History on Sept. 14. The program honors companies, organizations, and individuals who are excelling and helping grow the tech economy in our region. We wish the best of luck to Mr. White, who has done amazing work with our MEMS students!

The first day isn’t over yet, but it’s already great to have our students back at West Shore!

Our classrooms are full, students are connecting, and learning is already underway. Looking forward to a great 2026–2027 school year.

We were honored to welcome the NASA Glenn Research Center Office of STEM Engagement to West Shore Career Technical District!

Visitors toured our Electronic Engineering and Welding programs to see how our students are earning industry recognized credentials, gaining college credit, and preparing for high demand careers.

Thank you, NASA Glenn, for visiting and investing in the future workforce. We look forward to growing this partnership!
