🇫🇷✨ It’s official, Miss Pauline is joining our team and leading our French Program!

I truly could not be happier to welcome her to our school. Pauline is one of those people who naturally goes the extra mile. She is hardworking, loving, passionate about what she does, and brings so much knowledge and care with her. We feel incredibly lucky to have her on board. ❤️

Miss Pauline will be leading our little French classroom, and we are so excited for our families to get to know her and to see everything she will bring to our program. We know this new chapter is going to be something special.

Bienvenue dans l’équipe, Pauline! 🇫🇷 We are SO happy to have you with us!

And we can’t wait to show you our French classroom very soon! We’ll be decorating and getting everything ready, so pictures are coming. 👀✨

We also still have a few spots available in our French program! If you’d love for your little one to learn and experience French through play, connection, and everyday classroom life, send us a message. 🇫🇷❤️

As we wrap up our 2025–2026 school year and summer camp, I just want to take a moment to show gratitude for my partnership with Miss Drea, our Co-Director 🤍

Having Drea in leadership isn’t always “comfortable” and I mean that as one of the biggest compliments. She holds me accountable, speaks up, notices where we can improve, and challenges me to think differently. As an owner and director who is always striving to grow, she is exactly what I need beside me. Somehow, this Virgo/Scorpio dynamic just works 😂♍️♏️

Being challenged and pushed to think deeper isn’t always easy, but it takes humility and trust. I truly appreciate that about us, because it has made me a better leader.

I am so proud of how far she has come. From starting as a TA in our baby class to now stepping fully into her role as Co-Director, she has grown through every level of our school, and I couldn’t be prouder of her 🩷

She brings love, culture, fairness, and heart into everything she does. We share strong values for our school, and that foundation is one of our greatest strengths. She leads with both love and structure, and her students truly thrive because of it.

But beyond my Co-Director, I’m grateful for my friend. You’ve shown me how much you carry, how deeply you care about our school and my family, and how trusted you are when I need you most. That means more than you know 🥹

Thank you, Drea, for your loyalty, honesty, growth, and everything you do for our school, our families, and every child in our care. I love you 🤍 dredayteachla

I’m proud of you, grateful for you, and I love you 🤍

Happy July, friends! ☀️🌈

We know it’s been quiet on here lately, that’s because we’ve been too busy living it out in the classroom to stop and post about it! This week has been all about STEAM: little hands mixing colors, digging into sensory bins, discovering something new ☺️

Honestly, watching our kiddos learn through play never gets old. Messy hands, happy hearts, big lessons. 💚

As we start looking ahead to fall, we have a couple of spots opening up:
✨ One spot in our 3½–5 classroom
🇫🇷 A few openings in French Immersion

If Arc en Ciel has been on your mind, come see us! We’d love to show you around and introduce you to our little community.

📍 info in our website/bio, or just send us a message, we’ll get you scheduled for a tour.

Look at this beautiful haul! Back in March, our community came together for a Little Libros book fair Lil' Libros® - and THIS is what your support made possible. Every single one of these books is now part of our preschool library, ready to be read, loved, and reread by our little ones.
To every family who came out, shopped, and invested in our school that day - thank you. This library exists because of YOU.

Arc en Ciel Preschool has always been a family business. ❤️

So to me, there couldn’t have been a better way to improve our school than having one of our own preschool families help make it happen.

We definitely haven’t been sitting around during this week of closure. 😅 We’ve been busy! We redid the entire side yard, repainted classrooms, scrubbed floors, pressure washed the walkways, refreshed the playground, built new playhouses, and tackled a long list of projects that I’ve been dreaming about for a while.

I honestly can’t wait to show you all everything.

To every family who donated to our annual fundraiser… thank you. This project happened because of you. Every donation, big or small, made a difference. You helped turn an idea into something real, and hundreds of children will enjoy this space for years to come.

I also want to say a very special thank you to Eddie Terriquez, owner of visionarydc. Eddie, thank you for believing in this project, helping me keep the costs down, and donating so much of your time and hard work to our school. I know how much work went into this, and I don’t take that for granted.

You and your family are part of the Arc en Ciel story now, as business owner we share a similar story, story of hard work, love and family and I think that’s pretty special.

Thank you for trusting us with your boys. Thank you for believing in our school. Thank you for helping me build a better place for all of our children.

Sometimes it really does take a village, and this week was a beautiful reminder of that.

I can’t wait to welcome everyone back on July 6 and watch the kids run into their new playground for the first time. That’s going to be the best part.

I am endlessly grateful to you all… 🩷🩷🩷

I don’t know what’s gotten into me lately with all these memories, but here’s another one.

I was talking with a friend about the early days of the school, which sent me digging through old photos. Before I knew it, I was sitting there smiling, looking at pictures of Lilly and me at the very beginning of this journey.

There she is while I’m applying for licenses at City Hall. There she is napping in the classroom before we even had proper cots. There she is helping me move daycare furniture into the school. There she is playing while Mommy was busy trying to build something from nothing.

And then there was our first sign… honestly, it was pretty terrible. 😂

I still remember how excited and proud I felt the day our real sign went up. It felt like Arc en Ciel Preschool was finally becoming real.

Looking back at these photos from 2022 is wild. I can’t believe it’s been over three years already. I can’t believe how much this school has grown, how much we’ve changed, and how many children, families, and teachers have become part of our story.

I owe everything to the people in these pictures. The friends who showed up when there was no guarantee this would work. My friend Laetitia Laëtitia Paiva who helped me when I had nothing to go by. These people who donated their time, lifted furniture, painted walls, assembled shelves, watched my kids, and believed in me long before there was anything impressive to look at. This period of my life as I was building the school, I also had lost everything I own, I could barely put gas in my car back then. But that’s a story for an other time.
Those are the bones of this school. The grit, determination, and relentless drive I found within myself back then became the foundation that turned a dream into reality.
Those are the people I’ll always be loyal to. 🔥💕

It’s easy to celebrate success once it’s visible. I’ll never forget the people who stood beside me when all I had was a dream, a lot of determination, and a little girl following me around every step of the way.

Cheers to growth.
Cheers to evolving.
Cheers to expanding.
And cheers to never forgetting where it all started. ❤️🌈

🦖💚 The last few weeks of the school year are always some of my favorites.

The curriculum is wrapped up, graduation is around the corner, and we get to slow down a little and focus on what preschoolers do best: play, explore and get messy.

Lately our classrooms have been completely taken over by dinosaurs! We’ve been digging for fossils, washing dinosaur skeletons, painting dinosaur pasta, and creating all kinds of sensory invitations.

Watching them create stories, ask questions, and completely lose themselves in imaginative play is such a reminder that learning doesn’t always happen behind worksheets. Sometimes it happens in a bin full of water, shaving cream, kinetic sand, and a whole lot of dinosaur bones.

And yes… our teachers deserve a medal for all the cleanup. 😂💚🦕🦴

No, this isn’t an actual picture of me, but somehow it captured the feeling behind everything I have built.

Many years ago, Arc en Ciel Preschool was just me, a few children, and a dream in my living room. I was a young mom trying to build something meaningful while raising my own children. I had no idea that one day we would grow into a licensed preschool, offering bilingual programs, fundraising for playground improvements, and creating a community that feels like family.

What this picture doesn’t show are the countless late nights, the paperwork, the tears, the doubts, the cleaning, the licensing visits, the staff meetings, and all the moments I wanted to sell or give up, these moments where I wondered if I could really do this…
It also doesn’t show the people who made this possible.

My daughters, who have grown up alongside this school and have shared their mom with hundreds of children over the years. My son Atlas, who soon will be part of this adventure too. My incredible teachers, past and present, who have poured their hearts into these classrooms. And ALL of the families who have trusted us with their most precious little humans.
One thing I am especially proud of is that we don’t just teach Spanish.
We celebrate culture.

Our children learn songs, traditions, holidays, food, stories, and customs from across the Spanish-speaking world. They learn that language is more than words, it’s people, history, family, and identity. While the world argues about differences, we’re busy teaching children to embrace them. 🤍

What makes me the proudest is watching my teachers bring their own cultures, experiences, and traditions into the classroom. Every one of them has helped shape Arc en Ciel into what it is today. Their heritage, their stories, their families, and even the involvement of their families have helped create the warm and welcoming community we have become.

Arc en Ciel was never supposed to become “just a preschool.”
It became a village 🥹

A place where children are loved, where cultures are celebrated, where families connect, and where everyone belongs.

I am endlessly grateful. ❤️

A quiet day in our Mariquita Class today, with many of our friends off enjoying vacation.

Our Mariquita Class is where some of our youngest kiddos begin their journey with us at just 2 years old. Through play, songs, stories, and lots of love, children are gently immersed in Spanish from day one. Led by Miss Maribel and her assistant Miss Sam, this is our little joy squad 💕🩷

Watching their confidence grow, their first friendships form, and their little personalities shine is one of the most special parts of what we do.

We still have a few spaces available in our Marquita program for families looking for a warm, nurturing, fully Spanish-immersion. Starting at 2 years old, available spots open for July, August and September 2026 - These spots filled quickly so don’t wait ☺️
