🍽️ Tomorrow: Grandparent/Special Person Lunch! 🍽️

It's almost here! Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22, is our annual Grandparent/Special Person Lunch at Dennison. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends — anyone special to your student is welcome to join them for lunch and recess!

⏰ Lunch & Recess Times by Grade:

Kindergarten: Lunch 10:35–10:55 | Recess 10:55–11:15
2nd Grade: Lunch 10:55–11:15 | Recess 11:15–11:35
1st Grade: Lunch 11:30–11:50 | Recess 11:50–12:10
3rd Grade: Lunch 11:55–12:15 | Recess 12:15–12:35
4th Grade: Lunch 12:15–12:35 | Recess 12:35–12:55
5th Grade: Lunch 12:40–1:00 | Recess 1:00–1:20

A few helpful tips, especially for first-timers:

🧺 Bring a blanket or chair to sit on — a wagon/small cart helps if you're carrying extra gear
🥪 Guests can bring their own lunch (or lunch for their student) — students can also bring their packed/purchased lunch outside
👕 Remind your grandparent/special person which grade they're meeting and what color shirt your student is wearing — makes spotting each other so much easier!
🚗 Please do NOT park along Independence Street — parking lot and designated spaces only
🚻 Use the restroom before arriving — port-a-potties will be the only option on school grounds that day

Want to help make it a success? We still need a few volunteers to help direct guests, monitor the event area and assist with getting students back inside after recess.

📣Calling all kindergarten & 1st grade families 📣

We hope to see many of you at the second Popsicle Playdate tomorrow, Friday, August 21, after school on the Dennison Elementary School playgrounds!

‼️Please gather in the designated areas until 3:05 p.m., so Dennison teachers and staff can ensure all students have been picked up. We will distribute popsicles to those with name tags to help fill that time. Volunteers will let you know when the playgrounds are open for play.

Next week, March 9–13, is Staff Appreciation Week! To help us celebrate, students are encouraged to color a sheet and write a compliment for their teacher or a staff member on the wipe-off board near the front office. It’s a fun and meaningful way to spread some gratitude!

Monday October 20th- Have your child write a card or note of thanks, draw a picture, or share a special memory with Mrs. Crispin and/ or Mrs. Cook- please drop off to the front office.

Tuesday October 21st- Wear purple- Mrs. Crispin's favorite color!

Wednesday October 22nd- Wear Green- Mrs. Cook's favorite color! Come early to drop off as well so your child can write a message in chalk on the sidewalk around the school.
