Our teachers and staff are being asked to do the impossible: to create an atmosphere conducive to learning given the restraints imposed by this pandemic. We, the PTSO, are mobilizing to support the school and fill in the gaps as they exist. With your funds we will purchase:

- Filling stations for water bottles (our building doesn't have any)
- PPE for teachers and staff
- Chromebooks for students that don't have one
- Supplies for students and staff to make hybrid learning possible
- Professional Development for Staff to grow their skills as remote teachers
- Software Subscriptions for remote learning
- Outdoor seating areas for learning.

This time is unprecendeted. Please give generously so we can make the best out of this very difficult situation!

"Mike Jones of the Tallahassee Museum, has opened our eyes and our hearts each time he welcomed a school trip, more than 20 of them over a span of 34 years. Mike provided an unparalleled environment where hundreds of students were given the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way. We built or rebuilt habitats, helping to bring the red wolf back from the edge of extinction. We participated in the rehabilitation of injured animals and got to walk along the boardwalks across the cypress swamp after all the visitors had left. We left our mark on the museum and it has left its mark on us.

If you have ever visited the museum you know Mike for his passion, wit, knowledge, hospitality, and compassion. You’ve walked the grounds with him, prepared food for the animals, got the backstage pass where you were close enough to hear the panthers purr, stared into the face of the bears, learned to call alligators, danced to his music, eaten boiled peanuts, and sat spell-bound with his legendary storytelling.

Mike was the consummate host and went out of his way to acquaint us with the panhandle of Florida. Now it’s our turn. After more than 40 years at the Tallahassee Museum, Mike retired! We would like to raise money to bring Mike and his wife Paula out to Colorado where we can personally express our gratitude and appreciation. We are planning a party for Mike and Paula on June 19th the day before the Open School reunion."
