🐝 Want to know what all the buzz was about in 3rd grade yesterday?!
Our first in-school experience funded by PTO fundraising was the sweetest one yet! 🍯
Third graders welcomed Pacha Mama Beekeepers for two hands-on visits all about the incredible world of bees. Students learned why bees are so important to our ecosystem, the different types of bees in a hive, and the tools beekeepers use in their work.
On their return visit, students got to roll up their sleeves and become beekeepers themselves! They learned how to uncap the beeswax from honey-filled frames, use a honey extractor, and even take home their very own jar of fresh honey. 🐝
Experiences like these bring learning to life and give our Sailors opportunities they might not otherwise have in the classroom. This is your PTO fundraising dollars at work! ❤️💙
A huge thank-you to Pacha Mama Beekeepers for sharing their knowledge and passion with our third graders!
