MN/CAPS

MNCAPS is a partnership of education, industry and community, immersing all students in profession-based learning.

The Minnesota Center for Advanced Professional Studies (MNCAPS) program is a partnership between Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools and Farmington Area Public Schools. MNCAPS is a nationally recognized, innovative high school program. Students fast-forward into their future and are fully immersed in a professional culture, solving real-world problems, using industry standard tools and are mentored by

actual employers, all while receiving high school and college credit. MNCAPS is an example of how business, community and public education can partner to produce personalized learning experiences and educate the workforce of tomorrow, especially in high skill, high-demand jobs. MNCAPS will provide students with real-world immersion learning in professional settings. MNCAPS employs case studies and project-based learning to give students exposure to growing industries and potential career options. Students will receive hands-on learning experiences in the business and health care fields. They will also have opportunities to learn from guest instructors and industry mentors. MNCAPS is open to all juniors and seniors in the Prior Lake-Savage and Farmington Area Public school districts. MNCAPS may be a great option for students who intend to head straight into the workforce, attend community/technical college or pursue a four-year college degree.

Healthcare Year 2 students who completed first semester’s CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) course and then followed up by taking and passing their CNA exams enjoyed the annual CNA Signing Day!

48 students took and passed the exam at some point during second semester as they take the next steps in their career as healthcare professionals!

Today the top 5️⃣ out of 32 Shark Tank groups from the Foundations of Business Pathway presented in front of their peers, school staff, and a panel of 6 business professionals...aka the Sharks 🦈

The students presented with confidence and fielded some tough questions. Congratulations to all of the groups and a BIG congrats to this year's winning duo...GLOW THROW 🏆 Way to go ladies!

The Foundations of Business Pathway ALL participated in the first round of Shark Tank presentations today 🦈

Students have been working on these entrepreneurial projects all semester and did a great job showing up to present their hard work to all of our volunteer judges!

The Trades pathway celebrated their Skilled Trades signing day as well as entertained parents, grandparents, guardians, schoolmates, teachers, and mentors at the End-of-the-Year Showcase!
