Vondriska Works used his X-Ray vision when he saw a rotting log on the forest floor, and he felt that the slimy mushroom covered chunk was worth dragging out of the woods. I was the lucky person who got to spin this amazing chunk of wood into a bowl. The colors are amazing; better than I can capture on my phone. The texture left behind by the worms and bugs is spectacular. It was slightly punky, but still solid enough to turn without fortifying the wood. A very enjoyable project!

End grain walnut spittoon. I like to turn these, just cuz. I think they are a good woodturning skill builder, especially if you make them too tall or too skinny in the middle like this one. 😂
