Vondriska Works used his X-Ray vision when he saw a rotting log on the forest floor, and he felt that the slimy mushroom covered chunk was worth dragging out of the woods. I was the lucky person who got to spin this amazing chunk of wood into a bowl. The colors are amazing; better than I can capture on my phone. The texture left behind by the worms and bugs is spectacular. It was slightly p***y, but still solid enough to turn without fortifying the wood. A very enjoyable project!

End grain walnut spittoon. I like to turn these, just cuz. I think they are a good woodturning skill builder, especially if you make them too tall or too skinny in the middle like this one. 😂

I learned how to build cabinets from George, and I saved about 30-40k when I remodeled my kitchen a couple years ago. This is a rewarding skill to learn, and will serve you well for years as you customize and remodel your home. I highly recommend this.

A simple woodworking project to celebrate mom’s adventures with my brother Pete where they go somewhere cool every week and commemorate the day by picking up a coffee mug, mostly from St. Paul’s own .
